Just a thought of my father

It was this day of 2001 when my father died.we had the loneliest christmas ever that year.we kept him until after new year( it's our culture to wake for the dead, keep the  embalmed body in our house, where people can come and pay their last respect and we stay awake,we take turns in watching...etc).....IT WAS LIKE A DREAM....and HE WAS JUST PART OF IT NOW....   Sometimes i think did i have a father?.....he's just a memory now....i still cry for him...but i don't think i'm in that much pain anymore....maybe because of the time or maybe because of the nature of his death...i don't know...i just wish and pray  that wherever he is now i hope that he's happy and at peace.HE was a good man...in fact a very good man!and though i may have wished that he should had been what i was expecting from a father....i am still proud of him until now!

Cristy, My Daddy died December 31, 1991. New Years Eve. He had been sick for a very long time. He had COPD(cronic lung disease.) It is a long and hard way to go. In a way it was a relief when Daddy went. You never really foreget. Even through it is a blur. the missing and the longing for tham is still there. My Daddy was also a wonderful man and a wonderful father. I never heard one person that did not love him or say anything bad about him. He was also a man that was always kind, and never said a negative or bad thing about anyone else. There are many parts of my Dad\'s funeral that I do not remember. I remembe even less about Steven or Paul\'s. (my 2 sons.) I do not have much in my mind about my step daughter\'s service either, I was still so shocked by her death and the way she died, and I also had her 2 children to care for. I was very busy trying to comfort an 8 yr, old and a 16 yr old. Honey you are all right. It is normal to have these blurry memories. We all have these feelings of a dream like state. I belive this is God\'s way of helping our minds to be able to hold together during the hard times in our lives. You know how if you are injured badly (your body) in a car wreck or some kind of accident, that your body goes into shock, and you remember very little about it, and you usually feel very little pain??? Well I believe that God gave our minds this same coping ability in our minds! Think carefully about this, and I think you will see what I mean. Your mind goes into an altered state , just as your body does during a great physical tramua. I was wondering what is your religion? I find your practices to be very touching and beautiful. I would like to read some omre about it. Is there a book you can recommend for me? That would teach me. Thank you. I love you sweetie, and I bielive you are going to ne just fine. All you need is time and love and support. I love you and I support you all the way . I am here. Love,Peggy
