Just a Few Days...

until I get to see my mom! I leave on Wednesday, and come back the following Wednesday. I have to make sure to bring extra pills with me in case I have to stay there longer. I may end up having to take the bus (Amtrak bus) to a railroad farther down the line because it's cheaper that way. I don't know how things are going to work out, but they always do. My mom just didn't have enough money to get my tickets round trip right now, they only could afford one way. On their next paycheck they will get me my return ticket. I'm going to be gone for a week, and I hope my mom's husband is on his best behavior. My mom is planning on leaving him when she can get a job in LA, and he knows it. He thinks he can change her mind. I don't know if he can or not... my mom can be pretty stubborn when she wants to be. This all stems from the stroke she had a couple months back. She realized she has no family there, nobody to talk to when things go wrong. She wants to be with her family, and I don't blame her. I'm glad she's here in FL for now, at least, since I can just take the train up there to go see her. When she's in LA it's more expensive and it's a plane trip. I'm not scared of planes, I'm scared of the TSA agents.
I'm still waiting for my mom's Christmas present. It's getting closer and closer. I should get it on Monday or Tuesday at the latest, which is good since I leave on Wednesday. I don't want to go up there with no gift for her. At least the package is close.. driving distance. I wish they delivered mail on Sunday so I could get it then, but mailmen need breaks too. My dad was a mailman, and I've always tried to be nice to them since it's a hard job they do. Carrying that bag on his shoulder is what killed my dad. He wore away all the cartilage in both of his shoulders, and even moving his pinky was agony. They tried everything they could to help him, and the only option that was left was to cut the nerves to both of his arms. He would have lost the use of both arms. He was very proud, and would rather die than be disabled- literally. He killed himself before they did the surgery. It's sad, but it's just the way it was. I have to be positive about it, since getting depressed would be the last thing he would want from me. I have at least comfort in knowing why he did what he did.
Mood today is good... I can talk about my dad and not get depressed. I didn't do much today, just hung out in bed, trying to rest and make up for the sleep I didn't get for the past couple of nights. I don't know how many hours I actually slept, since I was waking up a bunch of the time and just dozing off. I didn't go for my walk, but I did do some dancing to music. Dancing is good cardio work as well. It wasn't for very long, but just enough to burn like 100 calories. I have a cat in my hair right now. She loves the smell of my hair for some reason. She likes rubbing her head against my scalp. She's just a crazy kitty. I love my crazy kitty, though. She knows when I'm not doing well and she comes and rubs against my legs.
Sleep last night was okay... I slept for a long time but it wasn't restful sleep. I kept tossing and turning and waking up Geo. He didn't seem to mind too much... he just took a nice long nap in the middle of the day. I know why I didn't sleep too well last night... I forgot to take my medications. I normally never forget, but lately (over the past 4 months) I've missed a dose here or there. Before I would never miss a dose. I wonder if that has anything to do with the crazy mood swings I'm going through. My legs are back to normal almost... I still feel the need to rub my feet and move them a bit, but it's -so- much better than it was before.
Food today was bad... I'm under 800 calories for the day and I'm not hungry. I have been drinking a ton of water because this new pill gives me dry mouth, so I've been drinking a ton of water. Maybe that's filling up my stomach too much and I don't need to eat. Well, I do need to eat, but you know what I mean. I'm going to try and have something to eat before I go to bed... I would have a peanut butter sandwich, but we have no bread. I can eat peanut butter straight from the jar, so I might do that. Stress today was low.... I didn't feel much in the way of stress. My back hurts from leaning over the computer so much, but that's just the way it is. I choose to use the computer on the couch and in bed, so I get what's coming. I just need to learn better posture.
