Just a bit frustrated
Normally I try to remain fairly upbeat but sometimes I do get just a bit frustrated. Today when I went for my CT scan I wound up being pushed around in a wheel chair. When I was registering for the test , I became light headed and had to reach out to steady myself against the wall. I thought that I was subtle about it, but the ladies at the desk caught it. (I guess I wasn't as subtle as I thought) Next thing you know, I was in a wheel chair. Now, I had been a little light headed since the attack but today was much worse. I did find myself thinking "what next?" The CT test itself was no problem and went very quckly. I should get my results in a few days. But then the tech had to help me up from the apparatus again due to dizziness. I'm not real concerned about it because it is a side effect of prednisone so until I'm off it, I won't freak out. If it gets too bad or continues beyond the end of the pred I'll call the pulmonologist. I don't want to though. I have to be sure I'm not overreacting. Oh well, I'm breathing much easier so that's one thing. I guess a few weeks of room spinning is a reasonable trade off. Be well,Tom

Glad you made it through your CT scan. Now maybe you will get a few answers. Whenever I go for x-rays or Ct scan, they always ask if I am short of breath and if so how severe it is. If I give the \"wrong\" answer I too am placed in a wheel chair for safety. The last 3 CT scans I had, I blacked-out while in the machine. I don\'t think it was for very long because they just asked if I was OK. A little wobbly afterwards, but OK. I\'m sure you weren\'t too happy about the wheelchair, but what you gonna do?
I know I\'m not one to talk....but be very careful with the dizziness. Even if it is from the pred. you could fall and hurt yourself. You don\'t want to be short of breath AND on crutches or with your arm in a sling.
I\'m glad to hear that your breathing is starting to get a bit better.

We health care workers don\'t like people to fall (too much paperwork)...thus explains the wheelchair. ;-D
Seriously though, this dizziness is absolutely due to prednisone? You sure? It\'s not blood pressure or inner ear probs?
Always be careful and prevent falls. Don\'t get up quickly. Be extra careful. AND, even though you don\'t want to, please call the pulmo. What\'s the worst he\'ll say???
