Feeling pretty good.   Took me a few days to recover from the corporate challenge on Thursday.  We had a Susan Koman Breast cancer walk/run on Saturday - I wasn't up to doing this.   This weekend is St Greg's 5k.  Its on Friday.  I usually do this every year.  Normally its a very warm night but I don't think it will be this year.  Might be in the 70's.  Hopefully it will be at least nice out.  I will register as a walker so my times won't be counted (and my nosy friends won't be looking for my time).
Went to my High school alumni dinner with my parents and brother on Saturday night.  It was good.  I got a cheesy pin for my 25th.  I had to stand up, go to the front so they can give us our pins. There were 2 of us, my classmate Carl was there.   They did the same thing for the class of 1960.  My good friend Jim was in that class and he got his 50th.  I knew a few people there but not many.  There were a lot of old timers there.  Class of 1955 had their mini class reunion there.  they had the most people there (close to 25 of them).  My parents, brother  and I sat with a bunch of old timers from the classes 1948 and 1951.   They were very nice people.    They didn't have a very good following for the years 1980-1989.   There was less than a handful of us.  Me, Carl - 1985, my brother 1987 and maybe 1 other from the class of 1989.  People better start showing up because eventually those old timers will be gone and we will be the ones standing in the next 20 years.  It will look pretty sad with about 10 people at these alumni dinners.  My parents, class of 1959 only had one other classmate come.    There was someone who graduated about 5 years ago there too and another from 2000.
Sunday I went back out to Angola to my parents house because my aunt uncle, cousin and her boys came to visit from Ohio and South Carolina.  It was a nice visit but wish we could have been outside enjoying the weather.  Damn rain!  It was the usual hotdogs and sausage (no hamburger) - hot or medium sausage.  We have a world class grocery store that makes their own sausage.  When people come to visit, they have to bring some home with them.  Of course, my aunt and uncle took their salens hotdogs and webers mustard home with them.  Those of you who have been to the western NY area, know about Salems hotdogs and webers mustard.
I had my evaluation on Friday - it went ok but my manager said that I don't take initiative on things and don't follow up.   I don't know where she got that from.  I know things were not handled the best when I went on vacation but it wasn't fair to justify this.  seems like she was basing this on that situation.  Nurses are very critical and will pick up on a lot of things (and won't be afraid to bring it up).  I know things haven't been the greatest healthwise for me and in a way my initiative and followups have hurt me a little bit.  I guess I need to redeem myself this year and hope my health doesn't get any worse.  She even called upon my calling in sick because of health issues.  This was out of my control.  I think I did really well with taking minimum days off because of Radiation.   Well...no sense of dwelling on what happened with the eval.  I will be getting a 3.3% raise.  Hey!  With the cut backs in healthcare - I was kinda surprised that we were getting a raise at all.  I am happy with it.  There are so many people out of work in todays world.  We are losing people in our healthcare system every week due to this healthcare cut back.  I am just hoping my 18 years at my hospital system will carry me over.  Besides, who would do the RN internship scheduling, paperwork and contracts.   They wouldn't know what do to first.....LOL!!
