July 27, 2010 - Biopsy results are.....

NEGATIVE!!!!    My oncologist said that everything seems to be clear.   I am so excited to share this news with everyone.  thank you to all my DS friends for praying for me during this most stressful time.   He said that there is something on the spine but its benign and not malignant.   So...the next step is to see him in 6 months and have another Bone scan and followup with him.  the bone scan is scheduled on Feb 3 (4 days after my B day) with a followup apt with him on Feb 8.   I guess I will be continuing to see him probably every 6 months to have this checked out.  I will take it - as long as I don't have to continue to get tested with this.
I see the nephrologist (kidney specialist) on Thursday.  This will be my 1st appt so I am extremely interested as to what he has to say about PKD and how verse he is.  I worry that he isn't verse in it.   Its just a hidden fear.
with the stress and slight depression due to all the tests/procedures/dr appts these past 6 weeks, I might have to call my primary to see if she can give me some anti-depressant (mild form) so I can get out of this fog I am in.  I will call her next week.  Its a lot to take in week in week out.  Its one thing if its every 6 months but I was going going going for 6 weeks straight, every week had a dr appt, test or whatever.  Its enough for just about anyone to feel the way I have been.
Rosanna was so excited to hear my news that she is buying lunch to have a party because of the news.
I had some issues from my family picnic on Sunday that my father was thinking that I am "self diagnosing" myself and that he doesn't understand this PKD.  I brought my friend Tom with me and of course, a lot of things were said about me (of course they were talking about me behind my back, I expect them to).  Of course, it would get back to me.  Apparently, my father does not want to get checked out (eventually they will, not right away - this will probably be in a year or 2) and my mother will be tested first before him and if she is negative - Tom's exact words were "there will be holy hell between him and my mother".  I was so upset to hear that.  He should have chose his words carefully.  He probably thought I wouldn't react to what he said because I am a strong person by nature.  I yelled back to him "this is no joke,  this is a serious thing and I am not playing around, there is no cure for this!!"  Sat on my recliner bawling my eyes out, Tika looking at me.  I got my composure enough and said to the cat "Im going rollerblading"  I was upset all the way to the Niagara river (isleview/niawanda park), Driving down the 290.
I actually did well rollerblading - no fall mishaps but I think my rollerblades have finally kicked the bucket.  I may try and change the wheels around but I might have to go find a new pair at "dicks sporting goods".  They are relatively cheap at $40-50.  The left wheels on the foot seems to be more in (again, I don't know until I change up the wheels, they could be just worn on that side because I kick off from the left foot more often.).  I actually went my whole route this time. - which was about 4 miles.  I felt good after that - no spinal pain problems or anything of that nature.  that was good news.  So, I knew that it would be negative.  I would have felt my spine pain immediately after starting  (probably would have gone 50 ft).  I may go again at the end of this week once the humidity goes down.  i don't care if its 80-85, the humidity kills it.  I don't go when its windy either.  I usually hit the wind on the way back and it tires me out.
Anyways, I wanted to share the great news.   I will be back with the nephrologist appt on Thursday....
