Journey so far

DH and I have been trying since 12/13 to get pregnant... my biggest fear has always been that I would be unable to get pregnant and after months of trying, it was devastating to feel like that might come true. In July, when I thought I was reaching my breaking point, I went to my doctor to see if I could do a basic infertility workup. She checked my hormone levels and had me go for a transvaginal ultrasound. They found a uterine polyp, and right away, my doctor scheduled me for a D&C to remove it. She said it was HUGE so I was convinced that the polyp must have been preventing pregnancy. We were able to try 2 weeks after the surgery, and I was POSITIVE that it would happen.
After months went by and still no positive pregnancy test, I really struggled with just feeling anxious and depressed- not to the point of needing medication, but to the point of balling my eyes out whenever I thought about not being pregnant!
Finally, last month, I went back to my doctor. I have to say, having a doctor who can relate to what you are going through makes all the difference. She told me that she had struggled with getting pregnant and her husband and her had unexplained infertility. However, she went through IUI and now has two daughters! It really made me feel a lot better that EVENTUALLY I hopefully will be able to have a baby- even if not the way I thought it would happen.
After that appointment, my husband did a semen analysis which was normal, and I went for an HSG which showed that my tubes are open. I'm relieved that everything is normal, but frustrated that we are still not pregnant and there is no explanation. BUT, we are moving forward with a fertility doc no matter what, so I feel like there's a plan, and it is going to happen at some point.
This is the first month in a LONG time where I finally feel okay and can stop beating myself up over infertility! Anyway, just wanted to share because I am feeling cautiously optimistic and that hasn't happened since we first started trying. :)
