Journal for Friday
Well it has been a bit of a blah day. We went to the travel clinic to see what we need for Peru and area. I guess we may need the yellow fever one so got it just in case and we needed to have the typhoid vaccine. Yellow Fever is a live vaccine so I may be under the weather for a day or so next week.
As Christmas gets closer, I feel more lost. I am trying to be positive - after reading Joanie's journal, i feel a bit like a wimp. I am really glad I am going to be away for Christmas!
We are trying to be more environmentally friendly so are trying to use our car less. We took the bus to our appointment. It was fine but you really have to plan, and you need time. e are not foreign to public transit. In Europe, we used buses, trams and metros as our mode of travel. We have tried to give up the car, except for out of town travel and shopping trips to get heavy items. But slowly got back in to our car habit. So we are trying again. We have a bit more of an incentive now as we are trying to get fitter for our trip to South America.
I am babbling - but I just need to feel connected this evening.
Thank you for being there.
Lisa: I am trying to be positive about Christmas. But it is so hard without you.
I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy

A very good idea, going away for Xmas. Save yourself whatever grief you can. Remember our amount of grieving says nothing of our love. Our children want to see us going on in life, remembering and honoring them.
Sorry about the injections, I still haven\'t gotten my flu shot. I foound out that my shaking and double vision are side effects of Gabapentim. And now Dr. has upped the amount. Damned if I do or don\'t. Have a great trip dear Marlene, Abby
I wish that i could just pick up and leave for Christmas. It is so hard without our children. You should have a nice change of scene for the holiday. Hope it\'s a pleasant experience for you and your husband. Know you will be thinking of Lisa. XOXO Debbie
I am so jealous LOL. Wish I could go to Peru! Sorry about the vaccs though, ouch! Will you see Machu Picchu? Oh, I hope some day to be able to travel! Please send us photos. Hugs and safe travels. Belinda
Marlene, I am glad you are going to be able to go to Peru. Years ago I went for 2 weeks to Bolivia and had to have those same vaccines. The typhoid one made me very ill. I thought I HAD typhoid...ugh. I hope you have a wonderful trip. God bless you...dale, brandon\'s mom
You\'re very wise to take all necessary travel precautions...I hope that you will have an enjoyable trip to Peru and other areas you plan to visit! Lisa will be right there experiencing your trip with you, safely in your heart and soul...
Love, Donna
Gentle care my friend with all of your preparations for your travel. I too try to have at least one no drive day a week and just think if we all could do this what a different world it would be. I\'m worried about our Mother Earth and feel that I must try to do something when I can. Good for you to be aware as you are.
Oh, Marlene.. one can never compare themselves with another and their path of grief, loss and finding hope in the midst. What I had hoped would be felt in that journal is a sense that when we do have those peace filled moments that perhaps that gives our children a little more wiggle room to come into our hearts. No matter how we are feeling they understand and this woman\'s journey is her own... not yours... You are doing your best and that is more than enough. Our children make themselves known in our smiles and in our tears... I must believe this...
Sending my love your way and some Lisa hugs as I\'m sure she gave them like only a daughter can.
XO Joanie
I go away too......sometimes for two weeks, sometimes only one....whatever my heart needs.
I haven\'t had to get major vaccines since moving to Portugal as a child.....OUCH! Hope you don\'t feel too awful as the meds enter and do what they\'re supposed to do. The trip to Peru will be amazing I\'m sure and I look forward to seeing some photo\'s. Joe is such an awesome photographer!!!
Love you!
Love to LIsa!
There you go again and again without me!!! off to Peru you go!!!! have fun...
You are so right about Joanies\'s Journal,,,I too feel kind a like a wimp,,,,
kudos to that mom!! love ya!
Marlene I enjoy your interesting babbling. I grew up in New York and my family never owned a car. We used the bus and subway to get everywhere. On very rear occasions my uncle drove us to visit someone that was not easy to get to by public transit. We didn\'t know any better, so it didn\'t bother us, but I can remember freezing on cold winter days waiting for the bus.
Looking forward to all the news about your trip Marlene.
Sending love, Terry
Here in FL public transit sucks. Everything is spread so far apart it is impossible. On a good note hubby and I car pool with each other to work 4 days a week. It is a 25 min drive so it helps with the gas bill.
Hope you dont get ill after getting those shots. Peru sounds interesting.
Hugs Penny
My mother brought some beautiful art from Peru, many years ago. Clever and talented artists there, bien, as in any country. Still, more original and ethnic.
I so understand the need to connect...so glad you come here. You are a traveling woman! Peru?? Wow...hope today is a easier day...
