JOKE/PHOTO: MISSING REINDEER AND CAT!! lmao//george walking//TRIGGERS grandma in nyc

feel like hell tonight, seem to have a slight fever.  i will take my bronchitis med when i get to the house down south.  wondering if walking this morning without a jacket brought this on, OR was it coming on and that is why i'm grumpy, or is that hideous customer bringing my immune system down by stressing me out.  wow!  listen to me!  lol.

went walking this morning.  yay!  and ran into george, a neighbor that i used to walk with when we first moved to the house down south five years ago.  he's fun, he likes to tell me about the historical area where we live.  the house next to him is for sale for a few years now, its owned by a dentist.  he claims its on the market for 175 from 475, won't know until i zillow it, if that's accurate.  very tempting if its true.  its ON THE INTRACOASTAL, has a dock and is a one-quarter acre lot, which is a lot of land for anything on the water.

looked up rn's property for her as well,  i think its do-able and i hope she does it.  the taxes are very low, and its a better deal than what she currently owns.

found the coupon for $5 that k says his dogs ate at his house after he called me to tell me he had it.  a kitten crapped on the one over here because i had it with the newspapers by the litter pans.  no idea why i did that as i was already looking for that coupon when i put it by the litter in the dark last night.  grrrrr.    i washed it off, but will look for something else.  redplum.com puts those coupons out.  i noticed that dollar general and family dollar have them as well lately but their five dollar coupons are only good one day per week, the ones from pet supermarket are good for a month.  if the dollar stores  would change their format i'd use their stores as well as they both sell animal supplies.

still reading january 1905.  its compelling reading but i keep getting stopped.  enjoyed my morning next to my favorite window looking out at the rooftops, the tops of trees, the sky and the clouds, sunshine (when its there it rained at some point this morning) and reading my book.  that window and reading in front of it, is a favorite thing.  one day i will miss that window.  have to remember to photograph the view of that window and maybe paint the view so that i can maybe recreate the same thing elsewhere.  ditto with the view from the spare room to the garden.  great for triggering memory and i need that, the spare room and view triggers feeling of summer camp as a kid, and the bedroom window reminds me of nyc in the BRONX.  lol.  a grandmother's apartment, but i like that window in general.

its weird.  anytime i see that roof, i see either one or three of my friends from childhood walking across the roofs to where our fire escape was 40 years ago.  you could get away with that in the 70's, even though it was illegal then just like it is now to walk on the rooftops of apartment buildings.  one tall boy, "shade," or shade with two smaller boys, a friend of mine, and his younger brother, the little one is dead for years now....he died about two years after the time when i was living there part of each year and violent death (his father was an alcoholic, but a teacher prompted that death, another asshole) and their older brother was already dead (also from the father).  city living.  to them our life in the city was so perfect.  my grandmother had a dog.  it was very mellow at our house, the building was a good size and brick.  lots of radiator heat and warm and toasty inside, always lots of food to eat, things to read, puzzles, cards, comics, books, paper for drawing, crayons and newspapers.    people around by our street by the park.  a pretty stone wall around the park (which seemed so tall back then and probably wasn't) and a tree.  i always invited my friends in to eat, no matter what, just in case, before we went out to play because you could never be sure what was happening at their own houses and when we would stop for lunch.  at first i'd split it with them, later on my grandmother caved and let everyone eat, making the stuff that spreads out like soup, stew, rice and pasta, instead of the meals we normally ate which was ordinary meat and portions of vegetables.   [my stepfather was also okay with covering their food and disbursing money to cover it (its small money anyway), which surprised everyone - but he was always generous with "other people's money" first his younger brother chas money and later on my money.  that will be another journal, my stepgrandfather from my mother did the same thing when she was young....history repeating itself...and it repeats again AFTER this, which amazes me even as i write this.]   it was me who paid for that, but it was my grandmother who cooked it.  i could do sandwiches and maybe eggs, but i'm no cook even now.

if we were indoors, we would do puzzles and read the funnies.  i had good manners, even as a kid, and i would show them that stuff as well in whispers, so it would be like they already knew.  that went on EVERYWHERE that was new on every level of income, from going out a lot, you do WHAT next?  lol.    i used to save books to keep there as well, just in case.  a lot of the stuff i did, my grandmother put up with if i was staying there, but if i wasn't staying there, she'd do it, but she didn't want to and i know it upset the boys.  you couldn't trust her unless i was actually there.  another one.  amazing how people have more than one side of themselves all the time.  she was the grandmother with a HUGE gambling problem.  and i was the person that she didn't want to know the other sides of her.  like "why can't ONE person not know the bad sides" [of her].   before me, it was her father who supposedly didn't know her other sides, but he died (was killed by her mother) when she was 16.  what a mess that was.  i only started facing the other sides of her, RECENTLY.  she used to be my favorite grandmother and relatives used to sneer bigtime if i said that.  lots of stuff to face there.  even my friends and later on boyfriends knew.  they'd do that take a big breath, not say anything, but were dying to say something.

common sense of the losses as far as huge homes etc., goes, tells a person, something isn't quite right.  one of my ex's fathers used to love to point that out.  people and their many vices.

i noticed with george he is forgetting things within a few minutes of saying it.  then he realizes and says, "just seeing if YOU remember."   he knows he is doing this.  its a surprise because he isn't that old.  he's another former engineer/pilot just like w.  i asked him to mention at the next community meeting (he's in charge of our area) that i want those little exercise plaques put in at our park.  like every ten feet it will have a plaque that says, touch your toes ten times.  then the next plaque says, do twenty leg lifts with each leg and so on and so forth.  they aren't expensive and it gets you to exercise without going to a class.  his daughter moved to rhode island.

Love the picture. I think the exercise plaques are an excellent addition to your park. Most of our parks are now doing that.

The property piece seems way to reasonable for the waterway? Good to hear you got some time to read at your window too.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
