JOKE: How to parallel park/park somewhere else//dinner at k's//over 40 resisting disease
JOKE: How to parallel park? Park somewhere else.
reading life with father by Clarence Day, Jr. (born 1876 - 1935). i'm a fan of the movie (1947) the book is even better. the intro gets into his ailments after joining the navy, which he claims he joined because his father bought him a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. he was afraid of owing his father the money for that seat so soon after he graduated from Yale University (the seat cost $19,000 at that time, which would be around $700,000 in today's money with inflation) [A seat on the exchange today, retails for as low as $950,000 and as high as $3 million]. Clarence says it made him a nervous wreck to owe his over-confident, extremely dominant father so much money so Clarence left town and joined the navy. this guy is hilarious.
Unfortunately he got ill while away in the navy, and it left him permanently disabled, he says his life then became consumed with resisting diseases, something people aren't normally consumed with until they are over 40 and have already lived quite a bit. [being over 40 sucks - for some people this happens ten years later and for others it happens at 30, its different for everyone. look at your calendar and see how much time you "waste" seeing doctors and having tests done every couple of weeks to every couple of months. i was horrified. my whole life has changed since the accident. i go directly home most nights. i can see how a life like that would cause depression. it IS depressing because its so nothing. can't imagine spending one's entire life living that way. at least my life wasn't like that until the passed two years and i'm still hoping it will return to something real again if my back and neck would stop hurting.
also glad i'm off all the medication except for the vitamins and massage therapist and chiro etc., because the other way its called a poly med and you take all these meds and those meds also take a toll on you. i'm still exhausted and out of breath allll the time because my hemoglobin is still low, but its maintaining. also the red rice yeast vitamin brought my cholesterol to a normal range - rn claims flax seed would do even more, but that bothered my stomach as well. they think i have a "bleeder" and it could be from the car accident. glad i didn't go on aspirin therapy my doctors suggested it in the 90's and i always said no - i had heard aspirin is very bad for your stomach. i avoid aspirin unless i'm in extreme pain. the new doctor says i should still take statins to prevent heart attack, he must be an M.D. because M.D.'s always push medications and D.O.'s don't. D.O.'s recommend alternative care or living more natural. i prefer natural. especially since the vitamins brought it down and statins didn't.
my sodium was low as well, which isn't good and could be why i have been craving popcorn all the time and eating so much of it weekly - not enough salt can also cause high blood pressure. i've known that since the 80's. its happened before. but its working. my blood pressure was normal when i went in this time 122 over 78. i am still bruised from the hospital drawing blood. the older woman there does a terrible job of it - she really should transfer to a different department. the older man in the lab was just as bad. the younger woman and man are the best ones - they even use a butterfly when you request it and the older ones don't. what the hell is that about weirdo?
had dinner at k's. what did we have. cauliflower, broccoli, salad with buffalo ranch and light Cesar, flounder in lemon sauce, white wine, champagne, and peach nectar cocktails with gin and triple sec (which are excellent) and peaches for desert. watched citizen kane with orson welles which is supposed to be one of the best movies ever made (its actually a bio of newspaper owner and billionaire, randolph hearst's life). one million in 1985 is actually 2.2 million today with inflation (not counting interest). the people in that law firm are rapists. was reading a thing on sexual harassment and suing for it, its so little compared to what they do, drugging the workers, attacking them with golf clubs, cameras inside the bathrooms and attacking and raping them from behind. they call themselves lawyers, what a joke. and also stealing paychecks and mail and breaking into others cars, condos and homes. what the hell? total thugs/total weirdos.
when i was first getting my federal clearance levels to work in federal court, it was delayed a few months which as an older adult doesn't seem long, but when you are young a month is like a year, so a few months is like a few years. they said the lawyer "boyfriend" of one of those lawyers in hollywood, florida hid my clearance files, prints and info and never sent it up to washington, d.c. i only knew two lawyers from hollywood, one that was born there and that tiny law firm that stalked and committed crime against anyone that ever worked inside their office or even worked "nearby" their office - crazy people. and i kept thinking "boyfriend", gay men weren't obvious about it as they are today. all of the tiny law firm lawyers were "married" the lawyer in the u.s. attorney's office who actually delayed it looked the furthest thing from gay - he was ultra-conservative. back then i had no idea which cluster of lawyers washington d.c. was talking about. was stunned to discover who it was ten years later. over time all things reveal themselves. you find out who is friends with whom by accident and then you have to worry about being physically attacked by the weirdo. unreal.
the one from the whacko law firm was still stalking in 2010, and ordered by the court every few years from 1986 through the 2000's to pay what he owes, but he is still walking around and not in prison and two of the old ones are dead. so everyone says, yes, but he can't do business or live outside of broward county. he can't do business outside of broward even if he says he can, its a lie. and its like, that isn't enough. look how many people he owes money to and look at all the crime that firm commits. the only thing that stopped the old one was full blown dementia in the 2000's or he would have continued stalking as well. and cancer got one of the other ones who used to attack/kill children, mostly very young boys. that whole thing over there is totally nuts. in dade county they used to say about them, if you want to call that "practicing" law - they had bad lawyers down there as well, but not as rampant as in broward and still is like that down there.
the new york times writes articles on the strangeness of the broward court house all the time and has since the late-80's, but its still open. wth? that corrupt firm would give you a check for money owed, right there in one of the court rooms before a judge for the total amount owed, but they would have hired a person to mug you, on your way outside the court house OR they would write the check on an account that is closed and say they "forgot" it was closed - hmmm - doing that alone is a felony:
"Any person who utters and publishes as true any false, forged, altered or counterfeit record, deed, instrument or other writing specified, knowing it to be false, altered, forged, or counterfeit, with intent to injure or defraud ... and these assholes are "defrauding" right before a "judge" and right inside a courthouse, talk about contempt for the court - that is about as contemptuous as it gets
would never want to know what it was like in various counties practicing "law" in the first half of the 1900's through 1951 when government first "started" trying to close down quacks. both law and medicine were full of total frauds.
fell promptly asleep for about three hours, probably both from having blood drawn and the hemoglobin being low. feel sleepy all the time. then was okay for about another 3 or 4 hours. trying to adapt to all this fatigue thing and just go with it. weird. makes you feel like your life as the living is over. everything has to be paced out all the time. so strange. i like maxing out and seeing what i can do, that is so much more
