JOKE - how i see word problems//checked into timeshare, they had us booked on the wrong floor. grrr

JOKE:

lol.

this is turning into the week of melt downs and mess-ups, WITHOUT it being august.  though the mess-ups seem to keep working themselves out, so not quite an august...

we get to the timeshare and get our condo for the week.  they have us on the wrong floor.  they have the entire second floor for people who are handicapped (why not the first?) and there is no tubs in the bathrooms, just handicap accessible showers in each unit.  grrrrr.  hmmmm.  how about for people with arthritis, or knee injuries, or twisted joints, or fibromylgia, or who are athletic and need the long soaks, number ONE and number TWO how about tell the person first and they can book somewhere else if they don't want that.  and number THREE most timeshare tubs have jacuzzi jets, so wtf?  long soaks is one of the things that makes me happy.  for real.  its a fave.  especially with any kind of bath salt or epsom salt, it makes a difference.  gets rid of all the aches just like it says on the container.  makes all the difference.  so i call and say i can't use the room so either find another room or upgrade or i'm checking out - we discovered this as we were filling in our check-in sheet, so within the first 20 minutes of being there.  don't mean to be an asshole, but we are owners.  we have two other trips booked.  get it right.

they had us in another room in one hour.  higher floor, better view.  beautiful view on both sides.  yay!  for some reason the unit feels larger on the higher floor, even though all the units are identical.  i'm kind of exhausted and to be honest, not at all prepared on this trip.  i said to the girl, are the washer/dryer units INSIDE the timeshare, the woman who booked it said it was.  its not.  but i won't freak on that one, just easier to use the largest suitcases - throw it all in there, get alllll of that shit done in ONE hour using multiple machines at one time, rather than the slowness of that at home and losing a day...just ideas.  when i get behind on things, i have my tricks and laundrymat is one of them.  doing the same while away works as well, its amazing how fast a room is cleared of all people if you have laundry to do or any other thing around that has the word "chore" attached to it.  seriously.   lol.

but you have to look around the unit.  timeshare is nicer than embassy suites and larger than hotels like westin, and most of them its like condo living (most of them don't have daily maid, which sometimes i like and sometimes i don't- have a feeling i don't want it this time, i want to RELAX which means NO INTERFERENCE, go away.  lol).  and unlike places like westin, timeshare you control your own a/c.  the first thing i did was turn the heat on to 80, even though its summer because the timeshare was around 72, which to me is wear a coat weather.

Where in FL are you? I\'m in Miami and even 80 is hot to me. I\'m originally from LA, so that might have something to do with it. I keep the air at 75 during the day and 72 at night. Geo needs it cold to sleep, so we compromised at 72 (he wanted 70). I have a friend in Hawaii (on Kawaii) who cleans condos for a living.. You would be amazed at the things people leave behind for her (like a $25 bag of coffee and tons of alcohol). I hope you have fun on your vacation!

i live in north florida now, i went to high school in south florida and miss the ten months of summer down there. i keep the green room in our house at 78 and from that one unit the rest of the house is lower in humidity and various temperatures generally around 80, except for the kitchen which is around 84 even with central a/c (its wall to wall windows, two walls of it). amazingly, the kitchen is the room the animals prefer even with a cold green room in the back or the living room which stays cool. very odd. would never have guessed this.

i can\'t handle cold at all. sounds like geo may have liked atlanta better, its a mountain and they actually have the cold and dry thing going on there even though its mostly warm. when i\'m at the house up north and no one is around i put the a/c on 83 or 81, lol. i can\'t handle cold at all. i love balmy weather like they have in miami. love the keys too, do you go there?

That pic made me LOL!!! Glad you got upgraded to a room with a tub. You\'re right...tubs and epsom salts are WONDERFUL! Keeping a tub clean is not always easy for me, though. Too much bending over and reaching. *sigh* Anyway, I hope you have a good time! *HUGS*

they have walk in tubs as well. even if i am dirt poor when i am old, i will install a walk in tub. i can\'t imagine life without soaking. lol.

ended up the washer dryer thing isn\'t so great. its 24/7 BUT the washer takes an hour and the dryer takes an hour (even though it says 30 minutes) and one of the loads had to go twice, but it could have been a full lint filter. didn\'t event think to check it.

hung out in the library, and found the tv menu there, channel 97, i couldn\'t find it on ours at all. the door slamming was the final grrrrr. the doors slam and the unit shakes, if you are on a floor with younger kids, its AWFUL too much slamming. the other woman doing her laundry, same plan as me, do it there, said they were doing construction on the 12th floor so the entire WEEK was banging and sliding at all ours. she goes to this timeshare yearly and seems to love it, except for all this, this year....they get FOUR units, so no one actually shares. lol. i thought to myself, wow, i thought only i was like that, guess not.

they had a movie on the ocean. very cool. but it was an action film. still a wonderful idea as at the ocean there is no bugs. you could be on a loung or in the jacuzzi or floating in the pool and watch the movie, so one up from jacuzzi and a movie. but still one down from a live band, like the inn used to have ten years ago - its still there, but it was bought out and its not the same. totally redone and pretty, their pool was HUGE and really was heated.

this pool is not heated at all. its cold. the jacuzzi was good, very hot. its salt water, so good for joints. i had the heat on at night all week set at 80. we are on a high floor, so you lose a degree for each floor up. its 90 outside so floor one or two is 90. by the time it hits the top, it doesn\'t even need a/c its only around 80 and super nice.

j is smoking cigars now....EVERYTHING smells like cigar smoke. he has also tried pipe tobacco. how do you get that out of your clothing? not as bad as cigarette smoke but not good. the luggage also has the same odor, and it leaves remnant, just like cigarettes. i WASHED the luggage and the water was light brown. so this is the latest new thing. hmmmm. clf died of mouth and throat CANCER 4 years ago, i think it was, would have to look it up, (he used to chew tobacco and he smoked) would think people would get a clue, as its right there. its not like on tv, or a relative far away. grrrrr.
