another boring day. so odd to be so bored lately. lol. painted yesterday. more painting. yippi. and more to do too. grrrr. but better done than not. brought the lone kitten to rn's, she says its sleeping a lot. she thinks its from fleas, so she flea bathed it with dawn dish detergent. it drank kmr formula from a dish, won't take a bottle. hope she lets me know how it is doing.
took 3 of 4 hours planned and more to do on the painting thing. one hour to go, i hope its only one. here we are hunting for supplies. used cardboard to cover some areas higher up, and newspaper for the rest. one hour to prepare the room. one hour for walls. one hour for detail. one hour to clean up. if perfect, should be a 4 hour job. its a very small area, maybe 12 x 7 is my guess, but so much is in there that its awkward. haven't painted in several years as well.
rn wants to look at the other kitten so i'll need to find time to get that one. never occurred to me fleas could be the problem. we used to wash kittens immediately. then started using a dot of flea med. now back to washing? rn also flea combs, you have to do that if you use any of the generic frontlines like pronyl or pet armour. they also have name brand frontline for small animals on sale on line and in walmart for $17 for 3 tubes. rn says she needs litter and that reminded me that i just bought litter at that store, i didn't even think to drop any off or drop off dog food which they also had super cheap, some organic brand.
they are supposed to be out on the boat today, including j. haven't looked to see if they came in because of the rain. how do people on boats handle lightening? dino is as screwy as me as far as what year it is. lol. he was trying to get me to look at a small suv from 2004 with very low miles. and i cracked up. when i started car shopping i was doing the same thing, like life stopped at 2010 and all the mid 2000 cars seemed newish. i said, no dino, it has to be something from around 2010. i still get sick from the "new car chemical smell" (total migraine) and that smell lingers on the car upholstery for at least two years, so it can't be a new car ever. my brain stopped at 2010 too, just like dino's. maybe it will stay there? does that happen as we age. i have a human development chart for that somewhere. or a focus on gerontology with studies in something medical would probably be useful at this point.
reminded me of johanna back in 2000 she was saying at the beach she and her husband noticed how nice and new all the cars looked. actually the cars looked the same as ever to me back then. lol, but she is at least 15 years older than me. what i think happens is besides your vision going, old starts to look new. you stop seeing the differences, if anything, old items are familiar and feel comfortable. lol. so unless you actually find out the year, you can't tell the difference. its a hoot though. kind of like teresa with the shoe guy, she says to him, in 2000, oh, that's not in style anymore. she is sitting there wearing a sundress from like 1989. teresa was still beautiful back then and thin, but for her, that was when the trendy thing was all leaving. the shoe man cracked up. she ended up marrying that guy and having 4 kids with him in the next five years. hilarious. she hadn't expected to have any kids at all. she was content with her beach life, her tiny house on the ocean, and married with children wasn't in the plans. amazing the curves life sends you. shoe sales in high end stores actually pays really well. a lot of people don't know that. its all commission. and places like burdines/macy's and dillards have beautiful (and pricey) shoes.
so i guess i'll end up being an antique car person one day (if i'm still alive) with cars from around 2010? don't think its really safe to do that in florida because of humidity/rust. but car shows are big here. noticed when i stopped in my office they have a new sign up by the office park. private property. by appointment only. must show i.d. and have i.d. with you at all times when on the premises. hmmmm. sounds very police state to me. they blame the patriot act of 2001 for all the changes, but its really odd how much of it is happening now, 13 years later. travel isn't fun by plane anymore and even going to the courthouse there are metal detectors. they claim its safer, instead it feels creepier. i especially hate the new fix it law, you pay even after the item on your car is fixed, and its almost full price of the ticket. in other words, cops can stalk you on the side of the road, waiting for a light of your's to go out and then you have to pay $100 in a ticket plus get it fixed. i couldn't believe it. no warning. when did the cops go from being "our friend" to being predators?
