Like me, have you ever received mail announcements like these?

I've received above 35 invitations similar to this, worded almost exactly the same manner. The senders have acted upset and astonished that I didn't jump to reap the benefits of this request.

Let's look at the issues within this invitation from the marketing point of view. Mike Marko Publishes Major Benefits Of Marketing Through Linked In includes further concerning where to deal with it.

* Almost all of the invitations I received were from individuals whose names I didn't identify. Why would I want to be a part of their community? The request does not say who they are, who they have use of and how I'd benefit from their network.

* What's Linked In, so how exactly does it work and what're the advantages of using it? No body has yet explained this clearly in their request. You can't expect that someone receiving this invitation understands what you are asking them to join or how it'd be good for them. It'd be helpful to have a paragraph or two explaining how it works and mentioning a certain effect the person behind the invitation enjoyed from membership. It might be that people think that since 'basic account is free,' the normal individual of the invitation may proceed and join. But even if it does not cost money, time would be taken by joining. We found out about http://futurally.com/news/mike-marko-publishes-major-benefits-of-marketing-through-linkedin/0170459/ by searching the Internet. You still require to 'sell' people o-n taking a free activity, specially with respect to a task or business that may be new to them.

* Nobody got time to head off possible misconceptions or objections to this account. As a non-member of Linked In, I am concerned that joining would open me up to a large amount of e-mail and calls that would waste my time and in which I would have no interest. Again, you can not assume that anything free is thus enticing; you must imagine why some-one might have questions or dismiss the theory and address these questions.

* Using a canned invitation that is almost exactly the same as everyone else's does not make a good impression. You'd desire to give it your personal stamp, even when the text given by Linked In were powerful, which it's not. Besides being irritated that they are apparently encouraging visitors to send invitations that make little sense, I've nothing against Linked In. Perhaps it is a helpful organization. My point is that its members need to use good sense and basic marketing principles to promote active, skeptical visitors to give it the opportunity..
