John Lennons Birthday-October 9th

Tomorrow it would have been John Lennons birthday. If he lived he would have been 68.And I am just so happy that I was born and lived in the 1960s and experienced all of the music and fashions and not read about it.Some of the things now are just silly. The series American Dreams..well..let me say this..the hair was real..but some of the conversation..it just did not happen..at least not in my house! My parents never talked that way at all and neither did my grandparents. As for grandparents..lately everyone is giving them a great deal of credit..But when it comes to mine..they never did half of the stuff that is going on today. My grandparents did not take me to disney land and such..it just wasnt done because they couldnt afford it.My grandparents were Italian immigrants and my great grandmother died in 1950..at the age of 50.I have seen pictures of her.She was a beautiful woman. She stoodn 5 foot 8 and had blue eyes and she did not speak english at all.I have a picture of her holding me..it is spooky.Frank is also in this picture, and I am glad that it was given to me.The person that I miss most of all is my father. And unfortunately...Brad is like all of these seattle men...all they do care about is sports and I am sorry..all of them stink. My late father would do fantastic things and noone has been able to duplicate what he has done. One day in 1957..there was a snow storm and Frank did not come home.Things were different then and at 8 o clock that evening.Frank did come home.It took him 3 hours to get home and he was on the verge of collapse.Plus..it was freezing because that stupid oil man did not come because of a mix up.My father took Frank and me to change and he did..Grandpa was over and he made a fire and it warmed the house.Daddy did something that noone did at that time..he cooked! He made us all macaroni with sauce with garlic bread..and Frank felt better. He was just so tired that he fell asleep on the floor and I was beat also. The fire warmed the house and grandpa put it out .The house was warm and so were we.The next day..it was just impossible to go to work.Noone could. There was no school for at least 3 days.Mothers job wasnt doing well either..the pipes froze..so she was off also.Everyone was home and Frank was just upset at losing his job.Grandpa told me and Frank that no matter what job we get and such..never to go out in bad weather....never..ANd he was right.Seattle is having another storm and it is suppose to snow up in the mountains. It is getting cold here again and I have to feed the cats.Tuffy is meowing. But remember that tomorrow is a special day as I remember John and out of respect for my grandfather celebrate.
