God is manifestly proud of Job. God exhaults in Jobs reverence for God. Satan says,  "well why not? Job only likes you because you have blessed him with wealth, family, popularity, prestige, land, livelihood, he lacks nothing! Who having all that wouldn't like you? You are not his Treasure those are his treasures!"
What an assault on God's value in Job's heart! The Devil says, "Take away the things he is leaning on and we'll see what he's using as a crutch!"
God knows the heart of Job, he doesn't NEED to prove anything to anyone- let alone Satan! - But God was the one who provoked this!~ WHy? Because God Loves to display his glory by having his people show where their heart really is! Who sees this? Angels, deamons/ devils, the world. Health, family, things or is your treasure in God!
God's way of thinking of our pain is so different than our perspective, and we have to understand his perspective or we will never make sense of it, it will make us angry. "Because if he loves me he would do… and you put your list up to God!" "if you love me won't you heal me?"
What God values is faith/ trust in Him, or another way of putting is:  hearts that are so enamored with Him/ leaning on him,  that His value and Him being our treasure shines more clearly when the things are taken away.
Piper said, it sets us up to loose things so we can show our real metal.
