jm's OBITUARY//lunch out with j//dinner at k's

i don't get this.  they have 3 pensions and social security, but they don't have the money or the wherewithal to pay for jm's obituary on legacy so that it stays there?  its $79 for it to remain permanently on there or $29 for one year.  they did neither one.  what is that?   then i figured, well, he was out of touch with his people for over 20 years because he retired early and moved to south florida.  six years ago, that changed and his long-distance wife moved here (that must be awkward).  they were never divorced, just lived separately.  though they claim people with polite but disdainful marriages actually stay together for 16 years before they finally get out of the misery and leave or divorce.  shit, 16 years?  how about one year of irreconcilable differences and get the hell out.   seriously.  lol.  life is for living.
don't know if i've mentioned this on this profile, but i did on 79lbs.  every 2 1/2 years like clockwork, a person dies at our branch - and our branch is small.  so its kind of scary.  as it hits the 2 year mark you actually start looking around you wondering who it would be.  L from the pig sanctuary used to say the same thing about her family, with them it was every 4 years, like clockwork, she was the youngest daughter and she said to her mom, at their last garage sale for charity, we are due, mom and her mom said to her, well i KNOW it won't be you.  she always had that kind of attitude toward her, even though she suffered from allergies and asthma.  a few months later L died from an asthma attack.  won't get into that one here, because its such a piss off.  so i'll stop.  jm had cancer, but it was caught early because he had gone into one of those medical studies for emphysema and the expert doctors at the study found the cancer.   his regular doctor hadn't spotted the cancer at all.  so you figure, lung cancer can be beat, he'll beat it.
all they say is he died suddenly and unexpectedly.  realllly.  aren't you supposed to say of what?  they say what he had a college degree in, but don't mention what school(s) he attended.  its so shoddily done.  makes you wonder.  but you never know with people anyway.  what IS and what people say, are always two different things.  right now you feel bad.  then you start counting.  especially if there is money owed or anything like that.  on and on.  i can also hear myself thinking like L used to do.  well, can breathe easy for the next four years because it won't happen again right here, for another four years.  you make light of it.  you either laugh or cry.  so many things are like that.  with this branch, its the same, you can breathe easy for the next 2 1/2 years - almost to the MONTH that is how accurate it is here and how eerie.  right now i feel like someone punched me in the gut.
its also weird because i only now started looking to replace him at work and that was without knowing.   i figured its almost a year since he left to get treatment.  wth? you also learn lies from the obits, he used to say there were 8 kids, there were 12.  he would say he was the last one standing, then say no he meant last of the brothers, so you didn't know which ... why lie about something like that unless none were on speaking terms.  families are always strange and i know media pushes family KNOWING it brings so many so much heart ache or at the very least un-needed melodrama, but i never understand why people bother, there is usually more to lose than gain with that kind of thing.   i also realized that there is only one person left here who actually will remember him at all well because so much has changed at this place especially in the last year.  even the cleaning people are different and we had the other cleaning people for 8 years.
irony, the replaced (forced retirement) IT guy that was here for 30 YEARS (because they wanted someone young with the same experience).  (nice try.  reminds me of one of the demented guys from the hollywood law firm (all of them were some form of demented, all in one law firm.  lol.  not really funny though because they were also criminals and deadly and living in this hick county where they got away with it, even after the county's population built up, that was the reputation it had 34 years ago, no idea how bad it is now with so many more people living down there.  i hear its just as bad though.   so old man demento sat there telling me proudly how carol, his secretary, had 20 years experience and i said to him, she is 45.  he says, so.  i say, i'm 19.  carol starts laughing and she is saying to him, how do you expect her to have 20 years experience when she is 19 (i had around five years of office experience 3 from lawyers/court houses, which is a lot for someone young anyway).  he insists it doesn't matter.  carol says, so you expect her to be working BEFORE she is even BORN?  he just stares.  this is before i totally comprehended how many lawyers (or people in general are frauds.  fake scores.  photocopied diplomas and board exams.  hiring people to take the boards for them.  quacks is what they used to call them.  today they call them cheats.  sooooo many).  only a moron would say so many idiotic things and i can write a list here of idiotic things just from him, if i wanted to waste the space.  unreal.
well, no one young will do the IT job for the pittance they were paying the original guy, so his replacement is 62, which means he will be gone in a year or 3 years so what is the point.  eating crow, is how i see it.  wouldn't it have been better to wait for the original guy to retire on his own.  or better "safe than sorry" have the replacement you think you want and THEN give the other one notice.  none of what is going on lately makes any sense - which is also scary.  tna said to me before she left here (on her own accord, her father is terminally ill) that not too many of us old timers are left here anymore.  that's scary too.  what used to be cool and interesting about this place was that there was longevity here.  very sad.   the one of two special things that it had is going, going, gone.
had dinner at k's.  and lunch out with j.  k made chicken pot pie and broccoli cheese quiche.  he makes great quiche.  dry white wine.  salad. pepperidge farm chocolate layered cake.  i brought pre-made mai tai mixer.  so we had mai tais.  unfortunately c showed up after he called the house a zillion times and no one answered, grrrr -- to ruin the night.  WHY does he have to show up and call on the night he knows we have dinner?  seriously.  have some manners.  he looked like hell.  was drunk and argumentative and his typical annoying self.  i have already lost all patience for that jerk.  ENOUGH with that.  j and i had lunch at one of those mom and pop italian places and it was EXCELLENT.  all real food instead of processed crap.

found the original obituary for jm, slightly better but still not much. only 3 of his brothers died. the rest of his siblings male and female are still alive. NONE of his nieces and nephews are mentioned at all. wth? and no children of the nieces and nephews not even in number are mentioned. wth? the college(s) he attended ARE on this one. but instead of mentioning where he lived in florida for TWENTY YEARS before north florida, in pompano and lighthouse point, the obit LIES and says he moved to north florida from new york. what is with all the lies. he was only in north florida for ten years. his wife was only here for six of those ten and his wife never lived in south florida with him at all. not even a mention of it. did she even post anything in south florida to let his friends or church down there know he died. so even in death, lots of cover ups and still not doing the right thing. what i realized when i started counting, is they actually lived apart longer than they lived together. but on paper they were married the whole time. i\'m actually reading a book that addresses that kind of thing today, though i\'m sure its always existed.

so much compassion. so, the former supervisor here was caught poisoning, for real poison and encouraged the landscaper to do the same if something happened with his wife or someone from work. WEIRDO. turns out, when jm\'s wife finally moved to florida 3 years ago, jm started poisoning HER when they weren\'t getting along so she wouldn\'t remember it. AND check this out, supposedly, picked up where the former supervisor left off poisoning in the work place. he claims a lawyer paid him to do this. not an excuse. are you over 18 jm? totally sick. so whatever i thought about his illness or death, i don\'t feel it now. wouldn\'t have suspected him, no idea why, even though he kept saying to the old guy here, works like a charm. what a WEIRDO. the old man we suspected the entire time and later on was suprised it was the former supervisor. guess its all three. and who next. can\'t believe shit like that goes on. feel sorry for jm\'s wife. no wonder they were separated for 25 years. would have been smartest to simply divorce. and what else was he guilty of? seriously. total assholes.
