jinx, religion and the weather
So, I've been having a run of bad luck. Rain day after day screwed me up on a job. I am awaiting a final payment that may not come. Both of my trucks have needed repairs at the same time. Now a problem on this job that will slow down progress and that money. Now I am so low on funds.
I think something is jinxing me.
Normally, I would say it is me. I'm not working hard enough, I'm not giving 110%. I am not working smart.
But a friend who I partner with often, is going thru similar problems. Pushing hard to get jobs done, working late, spending only what is minimally required to get thru the day. And he is feeling like nothing is going his wtrying to beat me down. ay.
Another friend had a bad car accident today. Truck had to be towed. He had only liability insurance. Now he can't get to work or school.
Another friend is going into the hospital for chest pains.
This morning I was thinking that maybe God is beating me down because I can't bring myself to really believe in him. Then I thought that if a higher power is screwing with me its probably the devil. I have trouble believing in religous faiths. How many things in this world are done in the name of some religion. If so many people believe in something other than themselves does that mean there really is something else?
Maybe its just the weather. Maybe communities as a group are influenced. That accounts for rushes in restaurants, surges in work, days of high crime, etc.
Ok, Thats enough. I'm going outside and play with my daughters dog.

Sorry your luck\'s been so crappy lately :( hope that turns around for you VERY soon.
I don\'t know...I am religious, but I have a hard time with a lot of the same questions you do. Oh and stuff like temperature and the phases of the moon absolutely do affect people, they\'ve done numerous studies on it! Crazy shit happens during a full moon, and there\'s a reason why LOL.
Now I\'m babbling...but I do hope that things get brighter for you very soon. Dogs are good for that :) Hugs to ya

hate to hear you are having such a bad week, but remember the world run on a negitive pules, a flow so to speak so don\'t get washed away by it, stay in the outer banks of positive.......... hope this week is better for you and Phil God Bless you :)
You need that feeling of the Holy Spirit which I sense is already in you, yet you do not recognize it. No big deal, I didnt realize until I was 48, and I am 53!! God works behind the scenes daily, hourly, think of all the positive. You can get there, and when you do, it is never been better. It isnt easier being a Christian but it enpowers you, you know you are never alone and you have a new open minded attitude. I still question my faith and or the strength of it, always learning. and do not let those holy roller types lay guilt trips, you will find the Lord. Have you tried church shopping? Some these days, which I love are so contemporary, rock bands, etc, yet, still have the same message, but put it in context I can understand and believe in.
Has anyone ever mentioned as long as you believe God is, and that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins and admit you are a sinner (arent we all, well yeah!!)_ then boom...you are a Christian and going to Heaven, simple as that. Go to church? Dont have to biblically..u can do it the way you feel comfortable, where two or more are gathered works..again do not feel pressured, and it due time it will come.
