Jerred, Joey and Joshua

(It would not let me finish or delete the first draft so here is the full story)

In 1984,1986 and 1990 God blessed me with 3 beautiful baby boys, all healthy and happy. And from 1986 to 1992 they were normal boys. Jono and Joey (oldest and youngest) never got along, for some reason from the day of his birth Joey has had an issue with Jono, he would cry whenever Jono wanted to hold Joey even as a new born. Jerred would have none of this so he was always in between them playing with each of them. I called him my PeaceKeeper. I wish just for that reason he was still here because they now have nothing to do with each other.

3 months after Jerred died we cut Joeys hair for the very first time. When I turned and saw Joey I just gasped, he looked identical to Jerred, I gasped in shock. Once I got over the shock I realized a gift was just given to me from God. I would know now what my Jerred would like every year after age 6. Now Joey did not/ does not have Jerreds personality,so I had no idea how he would behave or act. I already knew he was quiet and would not say anything until he had practised it to what he thought waas perfection. He was a happy fun loving, typical little boy who had a very serious side to him also.

5 years ago my grandson Joshua was born, and oh boy here I go again I thought as he also looks identical to Jerred. In fact Joey is his daddy and had wanted to name him after Jerred but his wife would not let him so he has a J name and Jerreds middle name. Now not only looking identical to his uncle Joshua personality is so very close to what Jerred's was. Joshie has a serious side to him just like Jerred did, He also dresses like his uncle he never  knew. Jerred was in such a hurry to get outside and play he did not care what he was wearing and 9 times out of 10 his shoes would be on the wrong feet and he did not care at all if his clothes matched at all. During the sermon of his funeral our minister who was also our neighbor called him a "ragamuffin"!!!

Joshua is the exact same way. When you let him pick his own clothes they are so miss matched but adorable. He also has the habit of putting his shoes on the wrong fet and will not take the time to change them.

What I am getting at is even though Jerred left this arth I have 2 people who are just like him in looks and 1 in personality. God has truly blessed me. I guess that is His way leeting me still have at least pieces of Jerred.

Jerred you have all of mmom's love and intil we meet again remember just how much I truly love you and miss you my baby.

It is such a gift for our beloveds to come through in this way that we are able to catch glimpses of them or even a cosmic two by four from time to time as we look at our Littles who are earth side. I enjoyed reading your journal, Susie, and I can relate to the mismatched clothing. My two began choosing what they wanted to wear as soon as they could dress themselves and some of the outfits they sported were hilarious. I will never forget Douglas in my red boots, a cape and crown as he went out to ride his bike. Sarah in a pink tutu and snow boots. My Littles do it now and it always brings a giggle and smile for sure. :)

Loving care as you remember and I hope too that you are beginning to feel better health wise. I know it's been such a long and arduous process.

Hand in hand, Heart to heart,
XO Joanie

When I see my granddaughter Elizabeth I am often taken back... and I have to sort through how she is not Cara... I am grateful she looks like Cara and yet I want Elizabeth's life to be her own so I don't want to push her to be like Cara... I am so grateful that your son loves and honors Jerred... I pray the other Jono and Joey will find their way to each other. Hugs to all of you. Elissa

Hugs and love and thanks to all of you. Since I met my boyfriend around christmas I have met many new people all wanting to know the story of Jerred so I have told it so many times that it is right back in the front of my mind even though on August 10th he will be gone for 24 years.
Joannie out of my 3 littles so far Joshua is the only one to dress this way, his brother Logan who is 7 is very fussy and has to make sure everything matches and Brooke is going to be 3 in September so we still pick out her clothes. Yes I giggle everytime Josh comes out because he has no concept about the weather or that long sleeved shirts do not go with shorts, so I send him back to find a different shirt, it may be short sleeved but it still normally does not match.
Elissa, I know exactly what you mean I do the same thing with Josh, his voice even sounds like Jerreds so at times I do have to stop myself and regain my composure because I almost call him Jerred. I am very thankful they did not name him Jerred as I feel that really would have hard on me. Josh had to get glasses so that helps me out more now because Jerred was still here at this age that Josh is at (5).
