Jeopardy
Yes - our two younger "boys" were watching Jeopardy together - I guess it was the semi-finals. My middle one likes the finals because he says this level is more challenging. My hubby said - "Can you imagine this time last year- T watching this on TV w/his brother?" Now he's watching a movie for a school assignment with his dad. It warms my heart. The other day my husband (actually it was last Friday) was driving home from work when he noticed a police car following him. Not just driving behind him, but following him. My husband knew he wasn't speeding (lots of cars passed him) and he knew the sticker plates were updated so .....why? He finally drove to a local park and stopped. The police car followed and stopped. As a courtesy he stopped my husband because his driver's license had expired. There is still a grace period, so he is okay but he just wanted to let him know. My husband told him that he was well aware that he needed to update it. In fact, he just got a reminder postcard in the mail the previous day. This "courtesy" pull over didn't sit well with my husband because he was anxious to get home in time for our soccer game. The officer had to have the flashing lights and all, too. What irritated my husband, also, was the fact that the officer ran his plates and because our "baby" is in the system - might be why he followed through with it. Maybe not. There has been a joke in our town that it always takes more than one car (at least two) police cars to pull someone over. Not much goes on in our town - the police are bored. There have been cut-backs on the force, recently, so maybe that is why there was only one this time. When I went to the Mayor's campaign fund-raiser about a month ago, I had the opportunity to talk to her. I told her that I am so ever grateful for the police officers who arrested my son. They were a godsend. I also said that, even though I've sent them Christmas cards and thank yous, I should write to the Chief and tell him. I told her "You always hear the complaints, don't you?" She said that the one I complimented had been a target of a complaint. I think I know who it was. I am friends with these people who were always fighting against the police - their kid could do no wrong. Sure there are some winners, as the Mayor attested to, but you can't have it all.....
