Jekyll and Hyde
yesterday Geo and I went to Arby's for lunch and there was a woman there doing face painting. I got butterflies on the left side of my face and it came out really pretty. After that, Geo treated me like a princess. He waited until the car was open for me to get in. We went to the store and it was raining still. He told me to wait, got the umbrella, walked around the car and held it for me so my face wouldn't get wet. He also held it while I was putting the groceries in the car. I felt so special. Then today he has been angry and throwing things (not anywhere near me... he has never hit me, but I get scared when he acts like that). It's like a totally different Geo. He's like this a lot, but he denies that he needs help (anger management, therapy and medications). He was on Prozac but stopped because he wanted to. Since his surgery, he has not been following the rules. He will sit at Burger King for 2 hours and slowly eats an entire Whopper by himself. He's not taking his vitamins unless I hand them to him, didn't take the pills for his gallbladder that the doctor gave him, still doesn't drink water (he drinks sugary fruit punch) and not even enough liquids. He refuses to drink protein shakes or eat protein bars. The problem is that his labs are good (amazingly) so he continues on his way. He sees the nutritionist later this month and I'm going to let the nutritionist all the things Geo is doing wrong. Geo is going to be pissed, but he has to follow the rules or else it will backfire and he will gain more weight (he gained 2 pounds the last doctor's visit, but he's been losing at least 20 pounds between visits, so it's kinda like he gained 22 pounds). I'm trying my best, but he still does all these bad things. It's so frustrating sometimes.

You cant make him change. Especially if he struggles with mental health. Take care of yourself first and do what you can but he has to want to be healthier...
Good luck with everything.. I agree with N79
He sounds like he does need to be on meds for his anger or personality disorder. I used to throw things, then be nice the next day. It also sounds like he is addicted tto food. I have had differnt addictions. Food can calming, just like other ^hings. An when we dont get them, ee eithrr show it in anger, or anxiety. I hope he gets help for himself, if not for you. Its no shame being on meds. He just wants to do what he wants.
You are a patient prrson for being with a person like that. Its not easy. Bless you.
if he lost 20 pounds between visits isn\'t that good? it sound really good. i wish i would lose 20 pounds. seriously. how about an anonymous typed letter to the doctor and that way he won\'t feel like you are interfering and being overbearing and oppressive. a lot of people go solo when it comes to a doctor. the doctor-patient privacy thing.
the anger thing is scary, especially if he is throwing things. has he always done that? glad you had a good time at arby\'s and at the store, hope all is well. xxoo
Face painting - just so cool and fun!
I was thinking the same as 38lbs...send, email, fax, however a letter to the doctor to let him know the situation. Geo does not have to know then that you snitched.
i told the doctor in front of Geo. He wasn\'t mad that I told on him, but he was upset about the way i went about it (telling the nutritionist that he can eat an entire Big Mac in one sitting).
