We have a party to go to this weekend, I am torn between wanting to go and staying home. I usually go just because they are close friends but I really don't enjoy the crowd and the noise. I know patti would be disappointed if I didn't go, so I guess I go and make an appearance say hi and leave ealy like every other year. I am glad this is the last bash that they are doing, that seems horribble. Jenn is coming home for the weekend to go to the party so I have that to look forward to. I still have to make food and find something to wear....it is supposed to be a funeral theme.....it being the end of the line for the bash. I have developed a really nasty cough, it kind of scares me because of my compromised lungs....I have no fever or anything so I will just keep an eye on things and wait and see. I start the cyclophosphimide on monday so we'll see what that does to me.

I understand how you feel about the party....particularly with your lung condition and your cough. I think you\'re wise to make it a brief visit....I have had to do that at times also.. Take good care of yourself................................

I read your other entry first, so I know that you went to the party. I\'m glad that you got to get out and mingle for a little while.

Hi, We haven\'t officially talked before but thanks for the friend request. Sounds like we are dealing with similar health issues. My antenaes perked up when you mentioned coughing. I have diffuse systemic scleroderma which means my scleroderma can travel into any part of my internal organs. Overall I have had very good progress but winter is always harder on me.
I have noticed a cough for the last 6 months but so far my lung capacity hasn\'t changed much and continues to be good. There was a point when my condition wasn\'t looking good, but stablilized dramatically after starting my homeopathy treatments. I have been doing the homeopathy for 3 years now and I have had great healing progress over those 3 years.
My first year was terrible with much inflammation, congestive heart failure and skin hardening. I did undergo lots of prednisone, cancer meds and transplant meds with no relief. So when a nurse friend of mine suggested homeopathy I decided why not. The things my rheumatologist offered were all so highly toxic and I wasn\'t getting better or finding any relief other than pain meds.
Today I don\'t take any pain meds, can open and close my fingers and do most things I love to do. It is still stiff but at the time I couldn\'t even hold my eating untensils without alot of difficulty. I also noticed that when I exercised(stationary biking for 20 minutes) my lung capacity started to change and even the tech (during lung function testing) noticed and asked me about it. There are alot of things one can do about alot of these issues. But like most peple I don\'t do them as often as I should. I exercised my hands everday as often as I could. Anything to keep the blood flowing. So very important with my disease. But most importantly working on my stress levels cause I am a type \"A\" personality & very codependent person. I go to a therapist and go to 12 step program and it helps me to find my center. Talking on DS has been a real stress reliever as well and I am glad you have found this too. It helps! Take care and glad to meet you!

It\'s nice to talk to you and I am very interested in the homeopathic approach that you are taking. there is not alot available in my area. What sort of supplements and things are you doing? I have really enjoyed talking to people on DS because they are so helpful and supportive. My friends and family try to be supportive but it\'s hard if you are not going through it. I have people say well you don\'t look sick so what\'s wrong.....I laugh at my husband his favourite advise when you don\'t feel well, take a shower you\'ll feel better...lol like that will solve everything, he does try and understand though. I\'ve read that people with lung invovlement take NAC , do you know anything about it? I\'ve done some research on it and it is supposed to help your body use it\'s glutathione more efficiently which helps the body repair itself. I was going to go and pick some up this week.
I am supposed to start cyclophosphimide today.....it scares me

I appreciate any advise you have re the homeopathic treatments, it was good talking to you
