J-Man

Talked to J this afternoon.  He didn't come home last night.  Said he fell asleep at his girlfriend parent's house and wasn't feeling well.  I asked what was wrong and he said "withdrawals".  Trying to do this on his own.  I don't think he can, but we have to let him try because I don't want him to shut us out AND I think he needs to see it for himself.
T didn't go to work again today.  No surprise there.
Oh and then to top things off -  just learned that my father-in-law has prostrate cancer.  When it rains.....

I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-laws prostate cancer, that is tough. It seems the older we get, the more we hear this from our friends and family. At least twice a year, I learn that a loved one has been stricken with Cancer. Someday we will conquer it. Good luck with your J-Man. Hugs and prayers.

I am sorry to hear about J\'s withdrawal. I hope he is true to you and that is all he is coping with. Withdrawals are something you have to be dedicated you. It is hard on the caregiver as well as the addict. I hope his girlfriend knows what to do and how to handle him. When me son was overdosed he was in a terrible rage, foaming about the corners of his mouth, shouting hurtful things, flailing about, trying to flee for whatever he wanted, crying, begging,& even vomiting. It was so hard to handle until the ER help. I can\'t imagine withdrawal any less attentive or hurtful. All you can do is offer to be there to help him remove this from his system as long as he is staying free of the drugs he is trying to quit. Tell him you made mistakes in life too, and that you don\'t hold it against him, you just want to help him..
My father had prostate cancer six years ago, I knew something was wrong because he called more often than before. They caught it in time and I hope to say after his surgery & much testing that six years later , he is testing clean with no signs of this prostate cancer. Good luck with convincing him to get the surgery and necessary treatments to heal him. You are thought of as you cope again.

Oh my gosh! So many issues have been dealt to you! I am so sorry to read about T. and J!!! T is traveling very fast into a big collision and I hope he will seek help once he its. All the counseling, all the discussions and promises have been ignored now, thus addiction. So glad to hear that J has been \"in touch\" with people who know T is using! Have you been able to even talk to T? The fact that the supplier OD\'d at a concert is scary! Did this even have an affect on him? How would you really know? My heart goes out to J for trying to get through his own addiction! Hope his gf is strong enough to support his efforts! Is he going to AA? I wish him luck and many prayers for courage! You have to be feeling devastated. I am so sorry you are going through all this!!! Saying a prayer for your father-in-law too. Your husband may be the one who carries all of you on this! Sometimes they just can\'t share. It feels like such a big burden and men don\'t handle even the hint of weakness where their family is concerned. I\'m sorry I\'ve been out of touch and know that you are thought of and only wished hope and peace! Hugs, D.
