IUI #5, CD 12

Just wanted to write a little update on how everything is going. I have been giving myself a Bravelle injection everyday since day 3. Those have been just fine except the fact that they sting and I have tiny little bruises all over the bottom part of my belly, all worth it though!
We had our follow-up appt on Thursday and I was really nervous. We have been praying for something-anything different with this cycle instead of just having 1 egg like all 4 previous cycles and there was a chance of having this cycle cancelled if I was over producing eggs, no John & Kate plus 8 situation happening here! But I'm happy to report everything looked great! The first thing she said when probed me was that my lining looked great and then she started counting...I was super nervous because they never told me what the magic number was when they would cancel everything. I have 3-4 eggs ranging from 12-16's (whatever that really means), 3-4!!!!! I have only ever had 1 so I am thrilled with my response!
I finished my Bravelle this evening and then I trigger tomorrow evening with the IUI happening Monday morning.
I did have a bit of meltdown this morning, we had a bit of a hiccup with the order of our DS. I had mentioned in my previous journal that we had to find a new donor this cycle as our previous donor is no longer available. Well, we wanted to wait to order anything until we knew if this cycle was going to be cancelled or not so we placed the order yesterday. We had filled out all the paperwork and been in contact with the sperm bank for several days before and they knew that I would most likely be calling on Thursday but we just needed the thumbs up from our RE. So I called on the drive home from our doctors office and placed the order making sure it would arrive on Saturday at the latest, since the IUI is Monday, and we are having it delivered to our house to avoid paying the extra storage fees at a cryo bank in Austin. I was given a tracking number and THANKFULLY I felt the urge to check it this morning because the expected delivery date was for MONDAY!! I lost my shit! I called and had to leave a message and the time in between that and when they called me back was just ugly...this cycle has been perfect AND this was going to make me have to cancel!! The sperm bank called me back saying they had messed up the shipping label and with the storms that hit the midwest last night, it never got on the plane!!! I lost my shit again!
Thankfully she was able to gather 2 more vials and overnight them for a Saturday delivery. I was still freaking out and having the worlds largest pity party until I finally was able to view the tracking details online that show the delivery as tomorrow! THANK YOU LORD! This is hands down the best cycle I have ever had and the thought of having to cancel because we couldn't get the sperm here in time was just unbearable! I will still be holding my breath until the vials arrive here tomorrow and you can bet your butt I will checking that tracking number every freaking hour until it's at my door!
I am trying my hardest not to get my hopes up over this cycle but I just can't help but feel good about it. I feel that my over all health is the best it's been for any cycle as I have lost close to 20 pounds since my last cycle in July. I have also been working on my own personal development and my positivity has been growing (minus today with that whole hiccup situation) AND this is far and away the best response my body has had, giving us a better shot at success than all previous cycles. Fingers and toes crossed!
I have been thinking of you all and hoping that we will all have success this year! Hugs to you all :)

Yeahhhh Lindsey! I am so happy you are having a great response to the meds! I held my breath the whole time I wad reading about your ds situation- how awful and stressful but soooooo glad they were able to resolve it for you. I know you have been working so hard on yourself (not that you need it) and am happy it is helping you be more comfortable with the cycle! I have all of my fingers and toes crossed for you that THIS is the one for you! Please know I will be thinking about you on Monday- maybe I\'ll use some \"safe\" word on FB to let you know ;-)

Oh and FYI the 12-16 they were talking about are the sizes of the follicles they measured. That is awesome! If I remember correctly my dr wanted to see 18-20s by the time we did treatment and yours will continue to go nice and plump for you! :)

Awe Nikki a safe word would be awesome! And yes, it was horribly stressful but so thankful we got it sorted out!! I knew they were talking about the size of the follies but they never said and I never asked where they should be for the IUI, so thanks for sharing that info! Eeeek I\'m excited to do this lol! Thanks for thinking of me :)

Yay! It sounds like you had a bit of a hiccup getting the sperm but everything else sounds GREAT! You should be fine with the early endometrin. My RE always put one in after each iui and and after my fresh transfer.

Thanks for telling me that KristiBell, I feel much better about that. I could have sworn I was told by my RE that I started them right after the IUI but on the table it clearly says to wait until the following day. And at my clinic it\'s the local OB resident who does the IUI not the RE, so she never mentioned it! I hope everything is going well with you!
