Its early but...

I cant help think how hard its going to be to meet someone.
Im shy, 44 , and not really that social.  My family was my social life.
How can I do this?  I don't want to be lonely or alone.  I have to try. I have to find a way.
Im working out and will continue to do so.  Gonna join a gym so I can get out more.  But my social skills suck!  Big time.  Im not comfortable talking to anyone.
I have to do better.  I have to become the person I always wanted to be

Just slow down a bit. This is all new to you right now and your main concern is your kids. There is NO rush to be worrying about dating just yet. Take some time and get things squared away with the divorce and let things settle.
As far as meeting someone, you never know who may pop into your life at just the right time. Join a couple of Meetups, the gym is a good place and I\'ve heard grocery stores too, go figure.
What is more important tho is being happy with yourself and that takes time after taking a hit like we took.
Be a good, kind person and love yourself! There are lots of single women out there in the same boat as you are. Try and not worry about the future so much, things have a way of working out. I know this is hard for you and your little family. Hang in there, you\'re going to be just fine!!!!!

My partner was 90% of my social life for the 5 years since I moved to a new city, so I understand that feeling of being isolated. I don\'t think being focused on every other weekend is pathetic, or an empty existence. Of course you won\'t want to live that way forever, but it sounds sort of comforting to have that time with your kids to look forward to :-) It\'s good you\'ll have the gym. I find meetup groups help and give me a list of different things that I can consider doing, even if I don\'t :-) One thing that helped me a lot was to find a nice place for breakfast a few miles away and walk there and back. Seems silly, but it helped me be less lonely on weekend mornings. I think you\'re doing pretty well for just two months in! Hang in there!
