Its been a rough couple of months............
Hello friends It’s been a rough couple of months on the home turf. Our beautiful teenage daughter has been out of school now for 5 weeks, she is suffering from Seasonal Depression. In the very beginning, we even thought she was suffering from Bipolar Disorder, so we got her evaluated, and the diagnosed was Seasonal Depression. We were quite relieved, the doctor who evaluated her, gave her some anti-depressants, it’s only been a few days now, but we already see a tremendous change in her attitude. Quite the relief, indeed. She has been keeping up with her school work, in order not to lose her school year, so this doesn’t add to her depression. So I’ve been quite busy just dealing with my girl, but she is already doing much progress. Thanks to all those whom I had confided in, and for the much needed support you gave us. I hope things improve even more with your daughter. My daughter went through a bad depression at 16 but came out of it. She is doing well and is happy today! I wish the best for you and your family. :)

Oh sweetie I\'m so glad that you did get her evaluated and that she isn\'t bipolar like me (I\'m very relieved for you and her) Also glad it is just seasonal so she won\'t have to take meds the rest of her life....sounds like you found a good doctor and she is responding well to the meds.
Was waiting on an update and praying that it would be something easily managed although I know it is still difficult to see your sweet baby suffer.
She is blessed with a wonderful mother. I appreciate the trust you placed in me - always here for you my dear sister....

Thanks friends, it took a while to get appointments but finally got through one by one, and finally got the diagnosed.

I just wanted to let you know that I think you are one terrific lady - you certainly have had your struggles but you seem to handle them with dignity and grace - how admirable. I pray that you will find peace and quite - and that you will find a time of relaxation and fun!!!! You are a inspiration. Keep the faith.

sorry so long to respond to this Mck, but it\'s been so busy around here getting ready for the memorial weekend and then I came down with this nasty cold. I\'ve been really sick since yesterday. Any way I\'m so happy to hear that it\'s just seasonal depression. I get that too. Seems like the winter months are the worst. I am glad you were finally able to get your dau. in to see the dr. I am also glad that she is responding well to the medicine. Teen years are so hard. She is lucky to have a caring mom like you and that you two have such a close relationship. Hopefully she will be back on her feet in no time. Take care of yourself too. Love, Jackie
How very sad that a child has to suffer with that SAD and anythng else on the list, how terrible, I was happy to read that she was doing a bit better and will pray that she continues to heal.
show her how to deal Mckenzie... you are so strong, I cant imagine being a teen in this day and age, it is so scary out there.
I know a few friends that got the Sun box thing, they sit next to it for 15 mins a day and it is a RX, have you ever heard of those boxes of special light? I will see if I can get the name of it,
