It seems like I'm the only one not looking forward to Christmas.

Literally everyone I know its practically bursting with Christmas spirit when I just want to avoid it. I mean I love Xmas, right up until Christmas day, which I hate. Out of 6 family members it's only my mum and me who do literally EVERYTHING. If being the slaves of the family wasn't enough, this will be the 6th year running I've been seriously ill over xmas, and while I can't breathe I'm still expected to literally do all the work not to mention fucking exams and courses I'm supposed to be doing. There's not enough hours in the day and I don't physically have the capacity to deal with all of this especially while being told by everyone around me that I'm a failure.

Wow, that really stinks, I hate Christmas myself, but not because of anything like that. I hate it because I feel like it\'s good in theory, friends family getting together, showing they care for one another by giving presents. Sadly it\'s not like that, it\'s people giving gifts out of a sense of obligation, people getting together who tend to not really care, otherwise you wouldn\'t need a special holiday to get together. Anyway, sorry, soapbox, the thing is, your not a failure, not doing anything when you can but choose not to, that\'s failure, you doing things even though you really shouldn\'t because you feel like crap and already have a ton to do while everyone else just throws the load on you. That\'s going above and beyond the call of duty, or at least it should be except they are forcing you to, which is not right at all. Can you avoid it? I know your only like sixteen, but is there anyway you can opt out? Get away, disappear for a day? Though that would just leave your mom to deal with the rest of it, seems like a lose/lose situation, your only sixteen so you can\'t just start telling others that they need to do crap or not have the work get done. But maybe you could talk to your mother? Maybe she could get some others to help, make you do less? I would try something, it\'s not right for you to have to do that.

I have talked to her about it before, and every year everyone else says they\'re going to chip in but when it actually comes to it they just leave it all to us again :/ I don\'t really have anywhere to go either, I live in the middle of nowhere, with no means of transport :/
