It's working!

For a long while I was having myself a pity-party because most of my family was shutting me out on Facebook.  Then my son, the only family member who lives close, got mad at me and quit talking to me.  That was the week before Easter.  I was down in the dumps.  Then I decided I needed more friends, to fill in the blank places left my missing loved ones.  So I sent out a plea here on DS for Facebook friends.  Hey, it worked!  I've met  some of the greatest people, and even got a couple who will be diet buddies.  Got in a lot more groups on here, too.  Things are looking up!  I also posted this as a topic, so it will reach more and maybe it will help some others of you who are hurting.
Yesterday just before bedtime, when I was on Facebook, a chat window opened.  It was my ES apologizing for having missed Mothers' Day and hoping I had a good one!  I only replied that it's NEXT week!  Now I wonder what he'll do?  LOL!
(((HUGS))) to everyone,Jan

Glad you\'re feeling better. My son and daughter stopped speaking to me as well over Facebook. What the\"H\" is wrong with these kids ? Well I did what any self respecting Mom would do .........I unfriended both of them LOL.

I\'d love to be Facebook friends with you. Just let me know. Hugs, Patricia

I can\'t imagine my children doing that but, I do get disappointed at times when my son doesn\'t seem to have time for me or my daughters can\'t make it for a special celebration and choose to go to the in-laws. I\'ve reconciled that with remembering how life was when I was raising them and how I shut out things around me sometimes. When I had to make choices that didn\'t make some happy, etc. I think as we get older we need to remember our blessings and be a blessing whenever and wherever we can. If that is outside the family circle, then so be it. Just don\'t stop loving them for any reason. Hold them close in your heart and get your happiness from who you are and what you do. I get mine from my faith and it makes all the difference. Blessings, Kathy

I know it is hard to understand. I look back and try to figure it out. I suppose my mistake was leaving my abusive husband. I was so desperate I didn\'t fight for my house, I just wanted to save the lives of my kids and myself. Well, silly as it seems, kids are devoted to their childhood home. When I left the state my ex made up all kinds of lies and my (then teenagers) believed him. I\'ve been the bad guy ever since. Oh well, it will all come out in the wash (as we used to say)!
