IT’S that time
From the week before Thanksgiving to Dec 30, I go into a slump. Its not I dont miss Ken everyday, but th3se were the last 40 days of his life. I feel this year I ask more whys than I ever did. Today would have been the day we would have left for Florida to visit Ken and his family. Gosh how our family has changed in rhese 10 years. Grandchildren grown up, know children of their own. Christmas was different this year but good. Instead one we will have had three but so great to see the kids. Fred has made up with his kids but they do not want me around.
aI guess other than the sadness I feel things are okay.

Thanks for checking in Sandi. I know how hard these days are...(((hugs))).
Ten years can feel like a life time...and someday's, it can feel like just yesterday.
I'm glad Fred has made up with his children, yet saddened to know they are still not accepting and/or inviting of you. Sad.
Thinking about you and your handsome Ken~
Love,
Teri
Think of you often Sandi. We wonder how we have survived all these years. I am like Teri - 10 years feels like a lifetime and also it feels like yesterday.
Tight hugs and much love to you and your handsome son, Ken...Nell and Jeff
Hi Sandi.
I am glad to hear that you had an okay Christmas; but so sorry that Fred's family is still not accepting. How sad. and petty of them.
We started our journey around the same time. For some reason, 10 years is just unbelievable. How could I still be here?
The 1st of December was horrible to look forward to but our friends had us over - a tradition. They are understanding - I can be who I am. However with a sip of wine and good friends, i made it through with some laughs as well. The 10th was a horrible day. That was the day, 10 years ago, that Lisa and her family were going to come and spend Christmas with us - her first trip home for Christmas since moving to Ottawa. I cried for most of the day.
Having said all that, Christmas was 'as good as possible under the circumstances'. We kept busy hosting and attending get togethers with friends during the weeks before Christmas. I kept busy cooking and eating and actually enjoyed making the turkey and trimmings - thinking of the times Lisa and I did it together!
Ken and Lisa are together. We are here to cherish the memories and watch their families grow.
Love and tight hugs. Wishing you a wonderful 2020!
