It's time

There comes a time in our lives where we are unable to continue working and giving 110% to our employers.  That time has come for me.  With a combination of Neuropathy and Parkinson's,  I'm unable to physically and mentally continue on.  I really hoped to work till I was 59 and 1/2 so there would be no tax penalty in drawing from my 401K, but I've applied for disability from my employer and from Social Security so maybe I'll be alright for awhile. I also have two small retirements that I can apply for if needed.   My dream was to purchase a camper and see some of the US and Canada that I haven't seen, but I gave up driving last year after two accidents in 4 months where my foot would slip off the brake onto the gas pedal. My Neurologist sent me for a driver assesment test which I flunked badly so that was that.  I have to move as I live where I worked and as my Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a few weeks ago, I'll move in with him and my Mom to help out for the duration.  After that who knows.  I would love to move to a warmer climate, but then I would miss my kids and grandkids so maybe I'll just snowbird it a few months out of the year.   I remain optimistic and upbeat as I still feel I'm a very blessed individual.
