It's on like a chicken bone...
It has finally arrived....the big bash birthday party for my Dad...he officially turns 80 today, February 8th...
I am as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof...
So much planning and energy has gone into this event...and yes it is going to be a huge event...
I have all the decorations, all the banners, all the gifts, all the kids, all the food and the alcohol...am I forgeting anything???
I am so nervous I can't sleep....
I called him today (like I do everyday) and told him I was trying to arrange an extra day off of work to come spend a few hours with him on his big day...he says "oh yeah?" I said "yeah!" "you don't turn 39 everyday Dad" "well in your case I guess you have turned 39 about 15 or 20 times now." He laughed, I could tell he was happy about the thought...but he knows nothing of all his Army Special Forces friends that are flying in from all over the world to be with him Friday...He knows nothing of the huge lake house or the party or that my best friend will be there too...she is like a second daughter to him...he just plain ole knows nothing of the whole event....
I think I have everthing covered, music, video, flowers, cake, singing...oh my...please send a quick prayer out for all of us that everyone arrives safely and that this turns out to be a huge blast for Dad....
I love you all and think of you daily...

Have a wonderful time at your Dad\'s 80th birthday. Souonds like you have it all under control. So don\'t worry, be happy!! And just have a ball with it. We had a 90th for my Mom last summer (not nearly so elaborate), and it was great. She loved it, and so did all of her family and friends that attended. So just have fun, fun, fun!!! And tell your Dad happy birthday from all of us at FMO! Love, a big hug, and lots of happy thoughts for the birthday party festivities.

Wow, sounds like you have it all done. This party sounds like so much fun, I wish I could be there to see your dad\'s face when he first gets there. Please, if you can, post some photos, k?
