It's OK now...

Well, we tried everything to make my prosthetic work, but nothing does.  I'm just too big.  The sleeve continues to roll down my ample thigh and makes the leg precarious at best.  I've accepted the fact that I will be confined to a wheelchair the rest of my life.  I need to lose some weight but even if I only eat one meal a day, I can't lose any weight because I'm so sedentary.  I'm OK.

Have you tried rolling sleeve down and not using it?

No! not in a wheelchair! My O & P guy trimmed my liner down to just above the socket and it only rolls 1/4 \" now and I am up walking. I also went with a new liner that has ridges in it so it bends... Ossur Iceross liner, no skin irritation anymore either! TRY IT!!!!! :)

I don\'t think you guys understand, my prosthetic has an outer sleeve that is attached to it. It goes up and over the actual liner that you put on first. It\'s called an Otto Bock. I can\'t wear the liner with a pin that attaches inside the socket because it blisters me and I get infections.

Hi Godluvnlady57,,im Stork,im a right leg bka..Ive been useing TUF-FOOT,to make the skin tough.Just maybe,it might work for you to where you could go back to the liner that has the pin.

Thanks Stork and MonicaL, I\'ll suggest both to my leg guy. I really like the idea of the Tuf-Foot and maybe in combination with the Ossur Iceross liner, I might just be in business. It would be so wonderful to walk.

I Myself tried the liner that you are now wearing, and didnt like it at all.So i went back to the gel-liner with the pin, thats made at the end,it just seems to work better for me..and i also use the Tuf-Foot.
If the prosthesis that ur going to now, doesnt do something to where you are satisfied with,,id go see someone else..there is no excuse for them not to make something that will work for you.

ill keep you in my prayers.
