It's Over
Well, Roundup is over. I do believe a good time was had by all.
The Jackalopes were rounded up and are all safely put away until next year. The Teddy Bears have gone home from their picnic and the giant ants have been well fed. The Lilliputian horses have gone off to graze for the next year and the snake in the grass has made his way into my living room. If any of this make sense to you please see us before April next year we could use your help. If not please see my earlier journal page.
I feel like I could sleep for a week. My feet are majorly swollen and it is difficult to walk. But it was a whole lot of fun. My pedometer said I walked approximately 22 miles from 7:00 am Thursday to 3:00 pm on Sunday. And I will probably do a goodly portion of it again next year.
Only one major mishap. Still haven't figured out what to do about it. But something has to be done. The person calling off the raffle numbers made a hugh mistake. He "cheated" and he made my granddaughter cry. The raffle turned out ok . It was just the way it happened. SuzieQ was drawing the tickets and this person was reading off the Numbers. When it came to the Grand, Super, Oh just about everyone wants this thing, raffle prize. He threw the number she drew away and told her to draw another only it had to be dark blue not light blue (HUH?) then he threw that one away and drew another himself. My little SuzieQ was devestated because she has been taught that you do not cheat and this looked like cheating to her. Poor, Baby was crying so hard. Kind of felt it was her fault because she didn't say anything to him but she was afraid to. I told her that no way was she responsible for the actions of anyone but herself and especially not those of an adult, whether or not he was acting like one. Pretty sad when a nine year old is more responsible than a grown man. Any way whether by man's design or God's a worthy person won the super, duper prize. So that is o.k. But this person has to know that this behavior is unacceptable. Especially in front of children.
The highlight of the weekend for me was the dancing. I was able to dance and dance and dance and not get tooo out of breath. I haven't done that in forever.
