It's MAY!!!! It's my MONTH!!!!!!!
So today is Monday. 7 days to go....!
I had an NST appointment today. Everything fine. Babys kicking up a storm and apparently I'm have a few contractions but didn't feel them at all. I do get BH quite a lot in the evening but they are more uncomfortable than painful. When I'm having one, I can't sit down, there is so much pressure on my nether regions!
I had traces of protein in my urine today - first time ever - but my BP is normal and I have no swelling at all so she is not worried. Of course, if I swell up like a balloon, then I have orders to go straight to hospital. But actually, I don't think that will happen. In fact, I was looking at myself today in the mirror and thinking how slim I look (face, arms, butt, hips, legs) compared to the photos I took at 24 weeks when I looked totally bloated. Also, my BS levels are spot on and I even cheated a few times this week (mainly small pieces of cadbury's chocolate!!) and they were fine :)
My next appointment is on 5/5 - the midwife told me today she will do a quick internal check, see how things are progressing and then she will be able to tell me (more or less) what will happen on next Monday when I go in to be induced.
Basically, all depends whether my cervix is dilated/effaced as to how they will proceed. At my last regular OB appointment, she did mention that my cervix was starting to "modify" so hopefully there has been continued progress since then.
So between now and the end of the week, I have to go do my GBS test (nice!!!) have blood drawn for the last time, then go to NST check on Thursday, then my last regular OB appointment on Friday. Then wait.
On the apartment front, I'm still no further forward. DH ripped the wallpaper off the kitchen walls, has done the floor in the kitchen and living room and has still to now paint the kitchen and finish the hall. Yesterday he did about 1m2 of floor in the hall then gave up. I don't think it will be finished in time.
I had 2 naps yesterday. If there was something else I could do, I would do it but I'm totally stuck. My bag isn't even packed properly because there is so much stuff on top of it, I can't get into it. I reckon I'm better off just sleeping while I can and if I can get DH to finish by the end of the week, then I can clean at the weekend.
My mum has booked her flight and will arrive on the 12th (next Thursday). She will be here for 10 DAYS!!!!!!!! DH is crapping himself and to be honest I do think it's going to be hard on us all. But hey, I have no choice. I will need help the first few days home from hospital and I KNOW that she will cook, clean, do laundry so I won't have to worry about it. Then DD's mum will be allowed to come when I'm ready for her (!!!!) and I have friends coming from Scotland on the 1st but they are low maintenance and won't cause any trouble.... so it will be a busy month.
In a way, I would love to just go into labour and be done with this whole pregnancy but it's so nice having a date and knowing that no later than early next week, my boy will be here!!! How bizarre to be at the end of this pregnancy. It just seems like yesterday I was frantically squeezing pee out in order to do my 800th HPT, not quite believing my eyes at the 2 lines on there.
