It's May!
It's May! I hope you're all enjoying it as much as I do. May is, without a doubt, my favorite month of the year. The Jacaranda trees are showing off their purple beauty, the flowers are out, and weather is still very moderate, and it is a time of renewal in nature. Five years ago when I retired, I chose to retire on May 1 so I could enjoy the entire glorious month. I was not disappointed. May is wonderful.!
We're 9 days away from the Bay to Breakers in San Francisco, so things are starting to happen fast around my house. Tomorrow I'm getting my carpet cleaned so that when my brother gets here from Arizona he will think I'm much neater than I really am.
Saturday we are having an event at UCI called "Survive with the Tribe." It is put on by the Ovarian Cancer Orange County Alliance. The event lasts from 9-3:30. I'm not exactly sure what's involved, but it will be nice to be with others who have been through the same things that cancer treatment too. If any7 of you have an opportunity to get involved with the Alliance in your area, I think you'll find it very rewarding.
Tuesday is my quarterly appointment, and a friend invited me to go to Dancing with athe Stars taping in the afternoon. I'm not sure I'll have enough time to do it because my medical appt. is at 10:30 a.m. , but we went to Dancing with the Stars last year, and it was so much fun.
Wednesday I pick up my brother at the airport, and Saturday we leave for San Francisco. I'm hoping my leg holds up and takes me through the race.
Well, enough blithering on. I wish all of you a wonderful May and lots of good health!

Hi, I am still not getting any announcements that anyone has written a journal and I just happened to see that you changed your statue so I looked. I do see journal comments announcements - so go figure. We do have a local ovarian cancer group and now that I\'m retired I\'ve been active in it. It\'s been around for almost 20 years and is one of the founding members of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. One of the things I love doing is going out to monthly lunches with other members. People would be surprised but we do a lot of laughing.
Best wishes on your appointment and have fine in San Francisco. Post pictures if you can! xxJanet
