It\'s done

Well, it took me about 3.5 hours to author, but at 2:30 AM, I sent out my resignation letter...officially ending one of, if not THE, greatest experiences I have had in my entire life.  Although I am very sad and empty right now, I am very thankful that I had an opportunity to spend six years of my life serving such a fantastic group of people. If you have ever seen the movie "Finding Nemo" (one of my son's all-time favorites) there a scene at the very end of the movie...where the aquarium fish have escaped to the ocean in plastic bags and the blow fish says "now what?".  That's a question I have to find out for myself now...for I now feel like these fish...floating in the ocean in a plastic bag with no long term plan or direction. Although it is very sad, it is also kind of exciting in a strange sort of way.  It's like being lost in a forest...although you may be confused, disoriented, and scared...there is this underlying adenelin rush of excitment and courisosity about "what will happen next".  We'll see... I really want to use this opportunity to start a new chapter in my life that focuses even more in servicing the needs of others.  It won't be the visually impaired any longer, but hopefully another group of people with greater needs.  I've really grown partial to those who are lonely, since I myself am generally a very lonely person.  At Sunday mass, when the priest says to pray for "those who are lonely" or for "those who have no one to pray for them", I am really moved.  We'll see... In the meantime, Charlie Hall's music comforted/inspired me while going through this tonight.  If you have never listened to any of his music, I would strongely recommend it. Again, thank you all my dear DS friends...for your support and word of encouragement.  Although we have never met face-to-face and communicate from all different parts of the world...I feel so close to you all right now.  So thank you so much...and God bless you and your families...
