It's an illness

I went to therapy today. It was a good session. I went in with my list of questions and concerns and she helped me with all of them. The question that I think after a year with this therapist and I've never asked ever was why? If everyone has issues and bouts of depression and anxiety why can't I live a normal life like everyone else who say they struggle like me. She sat for a second and just said "you have a chemical imbalance. Its an illness for you, not just a bad day or week like others." I sit here writing after reflecting on it tearfully on my couch hoping that someone in my house would see my pain and ask why. (nobody did) But it was so clear after she said it. I have an illness and it takes work to live with. Its a train ride but someday I can have a final destination. Its a weight of my shoulders. I'm not a weak person. I am not a horrible mom who can't control her emotions. I am not my family's weakest link that brings them down. I'm sick. I'm sick. I'm sick and thats okay. Were okay ya'll. Thanks.
