it's amazing

It is amazing the damage drugs (when abused) can do to a brain - particularly a young brain that is still developing.  Although many teens are self-centered, impulsive, immature, and "crazy" (as Dr. Bradley would say), these traits are certainly exaggerated with drug usage.  And, although T has been clean for awhile now, his brain not only is healing but he has some catching up to do.  Little by little that is happening and I need to be patient.  He may be 18 years old but emotionally, he's maybe 14 or 15 - and I can deal with that - he IS my baby, after all! Oldest son came home from (I keep saying "school" but he graduated) where he's living now to visit for a few days.  I love having him home and miss him more each time he leaves.  He helped me add the "bells and whistles" to my PowerPoint and I'm feeling better about that.   Middle guy just went off to play soccer at our local park - pick up game.  I'm very glad he does that.  T joins the group, too.  Wish these two boys would quit smoking - it definitely would improve their game!  Even with T on Wellbutrin - it doesn't seem to curb his cravings.

Wellbutrin helps some and not others. Didn\'t work for me re: smoking. Sounds like you are off and running now with your project - great news! Keep us posted on how this goes ok? I agree about the maturity level, M. is still so young in many ways!

Hi, I am new to this site. You just described my 18 yr old. He comes out of rehab on Friday (second time in) We are not overly optimistic that he will stay clean, but I pray everyday. Drugs have fried his brain as well. Breaks my heart. God Bless and I pray for your sons continued sobriety
