It's almost Christmas
I just don't know how I am going to handle it. I think I won't be going to any of the Christmas functions at the church. I probably will not even attend services the day after Christmas. I am not handling social situations very well. The last one I went to I could have kicked myself for not having taken my car. I was held prisoner amongst all the happy, excited people. It was all I could do to hold the tears back. I'm not looking forward to having guests Christmas and yet I know when they leave I will feel twice as lonely. I don't want to be alone until I am with people. Then when I'm with people I just want to be alone. They were suppose to have set Dix military stone yesterday. Before I go to the church this morning I will drive down & see if they did not get it done or if they simply forgot to call. It is cold this morning so I will probably not get out of the car. I can see the sites from the car. It will be up in the 70s (crazy TX weather) the next few days so I will go out and put mom's Christmas present in place. Her garden stone. I am postponing the inevitable here. I must get into my black wool slacks, (will do that in the breezeway... you learn to do this when you have large hairy dogs) put a sheet over Dix dirty truck seats (my car in shop) and move on to the cemetery & church. I wish you all the best Sunday that you can have. Love, Val

yup, it\'s an anxious story alright. You\'ve had alot of loss...you will not be trapped without a car again, right? I duck in and out of functions, go out side for fresh air when I have to, and leave right when I feel like I have to...knowing I control the exit makes me less anxious, but you know that already, don\'t you? Hang in there...this like sorority/fraternity Hell week coming up - everyday\'s going to be a challenge. Also, I was thinking that when you close the door after your guests leave, I bet you\'ll feel very relieved...that it\'s over!! Hang in there! jules
Hell week for sure. I hope you\'re right & that I will breath easier when they leave. . I think about an hour before they leave I will hit the Xanax. I may even cook the turkey & make the gravy a day ahead of time. I have a nice steam tray. That way very little clean up. That will be the last hard part. Dick always chased everyone out of the dining room after dinner & he cleaned up. Then he served dessert. Hang in... we\'ll make it through. My next rough one will be March 19th. Our 31st anniversary. We never made a big deal of NY\'s Glad that you are here!
Cleaning up will get you away from everyone....I actually enjoy it! I can collect your thoughts, and I don\'t have to talk to anyone....
