It's a new year!
Happy new year, everyone! It's time to start new! Isn't it great? This year will be super busy for us (as if 2012 wasn't busy enough, right?). We have to finish remodeling the house, put it on the market, we plan to move in the summer (to another island),... My parents in law are moving this summer as well. They live in Norfolk, VA and are moving way out into the country, and when I say country I mean the sticks, like no neighbors around for miles! Their house is solar powered, and has rain water catchers from what I understand. Anyways, Jeff wants to go out there this summer for A MONTH to help them move in addition to OUR move!! Yikes!! I don't know how we will pull this off. Having fibromyalgia (plus a few other things), I will not be participating in all that. Unless he wants to put me in the hospital. I might go out there (if my body allows) for a couple weeks to say hi, but I'll be hanging out with my feet up, and they better not ask me to do anything. Sorry it has to be that way. (sigh)
Anyway...
Christmas was awesome! It was soooo nice having my older brother and his wife here, my long time friend Ajeng and her new husband, Jeff's older brother, Sonny (funny we now have 2 Sonnys in the family lol) and his wife, and my good friend Marcella. Of course mom and Sonnie were here, too. Kris, my older bro, cooked a whole feast! Only problem was, I spent Christmas Eve in the ER with a nasty stomach bug! I had been sick at that point for at least 1.5 days of pure puking with diarrhea. No fluids could stay in. And during the 1st night, my dear husband (who slept through the night while I stayed up all night hugging the toilet), didn't believe me that I was violently ill and needed to go to the ER. He got up bright and early and Christmas Eve and kept waking me up every time I dozed off telling whenever I start feeling better I should start cleaning up because a lot needs to get done. I tried to tell him I think I need to go to the hospital, and all he said was that I needed to drink some water and get perked up a little more. Well During the day while he was out running errands I continued to throw up, dry heave, etc, till finally late that night he gave in and took me to the ER. The next day was Christmas and I couldn't even eat the big feast. I sipped on mazo ball soup and gently ate a saucer of mashed potatoes with gravy. But guess what? Just the fact that I could eat some tupe of FOOD made me so happy!! Anyways, Sonnie the brother with mental problems came down stairs when we were opening presents and went nuts on everyone and scared all the guests as he does every single holiday. We accidentally opened one of his presents (nameless) and he wanted us to put it back together with all the contents and wrapping paper. Even made my mom dig through the trash in front of guests. I don't know why she even amused him infront of all the guests like that. It was a total embarrassment.
The wedding celebration was wonderful. There were so many things that fell apart the day before.... flowers, Marines and their swords, people's cars breaking down, flower vases, car rental problems, etc etc. Most of the problems never got fixed and we had to wing it. But the guests never knew and thought it was beautiful. But I was totally upset that the Marines and the sword arch could not make it. Everything else I could live with. The photos will look great I'm sure, as soon as the photographer is done processing them. Can't wait! :)
New years day... Even though we tried talking Sonnie out of leaving for the Philippines, he is still going. He also doesn't seem to care that he basically walked away from 2 jobs and will be jobless by the end of Jan. So Jeff and I tried to tell him that this was it. When he get's on that plane at the end of Jan, that is his cue to not come back to live with us. So between now and then he time to get his things out of here and make whatever preparations he has to. But we had to talk through his bedroom door because he threw another temper tantrum and wouldn't come out of his room. Every time we need to talk to him, he throws a tantrum and runs to his room. I wish I could admit him into a metal hospital or something but according to Hawaii, he has to be a threat to hims elf or others around him. And they said he has had to physically or verbally make the threat. SO far it's just a bunch of temper tantrums and delusional thinking.
Anyways.... I got to go... So I'll post another update later! Take care and God bless! PS. Let me know how your holidays went!
