It may sound silly...

I think I can't walk this path alone, but I know I MUST! I can only count on me and my own problem solving skills to get through this life. Such a little thing happen today that made me feel like I could figure out anything on my own! We had a snow storm last night, big wet snow! Snow day from school, but the life line for me was cut. The Satellite went out about 4am. I leave it on all night. I need the sound. The quiet is just that too quiet. Without it I woke up and wasn't sure what to do. No ladder long enough to climb up and clear it off. How can I be so dependent on that TV?! But I was awake and I could feel the anxiety building inside. Now what do I take a sleeping pill, do I pace around the house like a caged cat? So I stayed up watching DVDs trying to figure out what I, alone, could do. Well thought wait until my neighbor comes home and borrow his ladder. See if my hose will work? Then it hit me duct tape cures all. I duct taped three broom handles together, waited for the snow to slow down and very carefully brushed the snow off the dish. Simple as that! I felt like I conquered the world! No help needed!! All by myself! I feel this was the first baby step in many more bigger steps in becoming more independent and knowing I can count ME in this world. Now it is time to play with my dog in the snow. A good day that came from a horrible weekend! Funny how that works!
