It is raining in Sydney
It is raining in Sydney, overcast skies, wind blowing, just matches my terrible mood.
I guess I should explain. You know when something happens to either a loved one and you really don't want to believe that it is happening, and there is not a bloody thing you can do about it. You just have to accept the way things are and just be there; wherever that is, for them.
Spent some time with a friend today, actually he is more than a friend he is family. That sacred institution that all those narrow minded bastards out there hold so tight to. Those same bastards that think being homosexual you are automatically unable to have a cohesive unit of other like souls. Well hate to stuff that up your lily white collective arses. I have know this man for 25 years and we have loved like brothers, went to Europe with him. Watched him bury his lover of 35 years. I have cried with him, laughed and drunk too much wine with him. And soon I will cry for him as we bury him.
I still cannot believe that he is actually dying and that it is the same terrible cancer that killed his lover, less then 18 months ago. I will be there when he dies and I shall weep, and they will be tears of gratitude. Gratitude for having the joy and pleasure of knowing such a man.
And the sadness will not be because David is not physically with us, no, the sadness will because he like his lover will have taken another piece of my heart.
