It is Monday
It slipped my mind that it was Monday. Canadian Thanksgiving is almost over. What to be thankful for...
I am thankful for my husband, son and DIL, my beautiful granddaughter and her dad and soon to be step-mom. I had to think about the last 2 but I really do appreciate the fact that they love Cevyn almost as much as I do.
I think I am thankful for the fact that they have taken Lisa's chart to a lawyer and had an expert review it. My suspicions have been confirmed. Lisa did not have to die. The expert said that the surgeons doing the procedure were not properly trained. They are expert laparoscopic surgeons but not bariatric. They were not properly trained so did not recognize the gravity of Lisa's symptoms - and left it too late. Also, Lisa's BMI was not high enough to even qualify for surgery. I know Lisa told me that it wasn't high enough but she thought that she had other risk factors that allowed for her to have it done. The surgeon in Montreal did not agree that her symptoms were that serious.
So Harvey is going to have them go forward, knowing that it is going to be a painful, costly process but Cevyn will know that we did what we could.
In the meantime, I am gearing up for the wedding in February. It is a good thing that I like my future 'step-daughter-in-law'?
So it has been an emotional weekend. The upside is that we had turkey and the trimmings, and even better yet, leftovers today! So I do have things to be thankful for.
