it is just never enough....
mdm called again today and wanted me to come over to help her sew. i was over there all day wednesday... i asked her why she didn't come over here... but she doesn't like coming to my house. i really don't know why. she thinks she is in my husband's way... i think it's the other way around. ... i think hubby is in her way. she can't slouch, gossip, she has to comb her hair, she can't sit in her nightgown all day, she isn't in control.
i get it. i like being in control of my environment, too.
but i'm so tired. i told her that i am just so tired from the long week. it was long. wednesday wore me out. and i missed my meeting ... i was over there all day long just 3 days ago.
it is just never enough. she says she understands but i feel badly for her. but what do you do? she has cut so many ppl out of her life. so many ppl she has ditched that could be friends. she has only one friend. and i'm sure she wears her out, too. MB is exhausted from having to take care of her... he's done it for 7 years.
now she is wanting to lean on me... and i just don't want the responsibility. yes. i have some responsiblityies to mm, but i can't meet ALL of them. for a dry alcoholic that acts very much like BPD... it's a bottomless pit. i can give and give until i'm depleted. and it's still not enough. they are still wanting more.

Healthy boundaries are essential to healthy relationships. Let yourself come from the heart --compassionately-- and hold your ground. All of us are bottomless pits when we are in need. Do what you can and let the rest go.
