It is done.

I did the funeral for my sister today.  It was good to see my niece and nephew there but, it was hard.  I did the best I could.  I did alright till the last closing words at the cemetery and I finally broke down.  When I said "This isn't goodbye, it's just see you later sis".  When I said these words, I broke for a few seconds.  I composed myself and finished.
After the service, my niece and nephew came up to me and hugged me for a long time.  Linda told me that she knew this would be hard for me but, she said mom wouldn't have wanted anyone else but you, her brother, to do her funeral.  I felt so honored but, man, this was tough.
We told of some of the fun times we had and how she used to always slug me on the arm when she saw me.  She always called me "big brother" because, I am the biggest and tallest in our family.
My twin brother was there.   He visited with the family but, had few words to say to me but, that's ok.
My text for the funeral was Psalms Chpt 116 vs-5  "Precious in the sight of the Lord, are the death of his saints". The title of my message was  "A Blessed Departure".  My sister had been a Christian all her life.  She wasn't perfect but, none of us are.  She had a wonderful, long life.  She was truly unique in many ways.  A great athlete when she was young, she was a marble shooting champion for 5 years straight, in her county, she could throw a baseball so hard, that she burnt out 2 catchers on the boys baseball team, the first game she ever pitched.  She never let anything detain her if she wanted to do it.  She was driving, by herself, from Ky. to Ill., to visit her sisters and I when she was 80.  She was my sister, my friend and my best cheerleader for my ministry, especially  when I would play the piano for her.  I will miss her but, I will never forget her.

I am sure it is hard and I am glad you draw strength from the Lord and did the funeral. Just like my son, he did not want anyone to discover his dead body but me. It is hard and painful, sad memory but now I am glad that I am the one who he and He have chosen.
Yes, there is no goodbye... just a temporary separation. We will rejoice when we meet again.

You were her big and faithful brother all the way to the end. The funeral sounded very nice and the scripture that you chose was so beautiful.
It is so hard to even say I will see you later when our flesh just wants one more moment to laugh and joke around. You are so blessed that you will have an eternity of laughs with your sister. May our Dear sweet Lord comfort you and hold you as you reflect on the past of good times. May He strengthen you after such an exhausting few days and give you rest.
Thank You Lord for being with peewee and His family during this time and always !!!!! In His Love, connie
