Is there really any Hope?
I am coming to a sad conclusion that the relationship that I committed to isn't working. I have done damn near everything I can to commit to the relationship, committing myself to this person, turning down all other offers, moving in, saying yes when he asked me to marry him (I believe he used this as a way to get me to come back).
I talk to him sweetly, compliment him and encourage him to do things for himself. I've tried making the house a home.
The only thing Ive gotten is No physical relationship and no talking. I have 10 more months of this lease.
My gut tells me to get a 2nd job and work really hard to move past this in 10 months.
He's going to visit his mother next week. I'm going to wait till he comes back to have a talk with him. I know that he's stressed about seeing his mother as she is in early stages of alzheimers and it upsets him and I am sensitive to his feelings.
But, I know that when he gets back, things will go back to the way they were, because thats where he's comfortable.
But, I am not. Advice anyone?

If you are not getting your needs fulfilled then just follow your heart and don't hold on to any guilt over it.
Sure life is rough and we all support one another during those difficult times but when you go to bed at night, you have to be able to leave the daily stress of everyday living, outside the bedroom door!
It's your life to live, anyway you want but I really believe we all deserve to be happy and we are all in charge of our happiness.
God Bless
Thanks, I actually feel guilty having these feelings.
Yes! and, It's not selfish because you need to take care of YOU before you can take care of anyone else.
God Bless .
When I find myself asking that question, tossing my current life out the window has yet to reveal any hope for me. I don't feel objective enough to do the research, but I often find myself wondering how many proverbial babies I have thrown out with the bath water through that very maneuver. For sure, some of those "babies" were precious enough that the wonder wanders through the question of whether I should go hunting for those lost babies. The times I've given in to that urge, I have found hope reserves I didn't know I had, gift wrapped and waiting for me to finish the Minotaur's Labyrinth of my own wounded heart.
Or am I lost in metaphor again? I just finished hanging "Turd Lights" on my grandson's 6th birthday table. Now I'm faced with the moral dilemma of whether to quote what was on the box and risk his turning the theme to, "Turd Table" or salute the CPS CYA flag and not take *That* risk. It is so hard to predict what will turn against you in child custody cases.
No wonder I get lost in metaphor so easily. . . Insert Mark Twain quote here. "Of course fact is stranger than fiction. Fiction is obliged to make sense."
Apology if I have wandered too far off topic. Returning your therapy journal to you now. . .
P.S.
None of those proverbial babies were ex-lovers. When I dump a chump, she/he stays dumped.
