Is There a Doctor in the House?
The question I'd like to know about is what should any of us seeking help should expect from our counselors or therapists?
My first counselor left after only 4 months, she and her husband moved up to Rochester NY. The second counselor introduced me to cognitive therapy and meet up groups. She had me write down my feelings and we worked on stuff. About a year later she, too left. She and her husband moved north to be closer to their family.
I wasn't told until the end of our session. Then introduced to my new counselor, told she be like the one that was leaving. But while she is nice I feel like I have to tell her how to do her job.I'd like too know.what I should expect?
I keep thinking about counselors I've seen on TV. I wish my counselor was more like.the one on MASH. DR.Sydney Freedman. Now there is a counselor for you.
