Is it settling or Just trying to be happy?
After my divorce almost two years ago, I went crazy or should I say..I was vulnurable. Rather than stay away from men, I chased them and even allowed bad ones to come into my life. One relationship imparticular literally ended me...I had never felt such rejection and heartbreak. I felt free and felt like I'd missed out on things but now know I did myself a great diservice by not giving myself time to heal and figure things out. I finally took some time to myself and even lived on my own for a few months. I started dating a quiet man who works with his hands. He wasn't my type. I was use to the clean cut manicured- shaven white collar guy. He was consistant and understanding and several years older than me. After being with him for 3 months, I had to leave because I didn't want to be a user and wasn't sure I could love him like he loves me. I lived and slept in my car for a month and ran up North to someone else thinking this would solve everything. (Always running away from things instead of facing them). During this whole time, this man was texting me telling me that he missed me and I needed to come home. Rather than curse me, rather than reject me, knowing in his heart I had ran to another man, he accepted me back with open arms and loved me. We have been together ever since. There are times were I wander if I made the right decision. When do you stop running and accept happiness? In the first few months we were back together, those old feelings came back, and rather than run this time...I talked to him openly and told him how I was feeling. I think this made him happy. For so long I felt I was a survivor....but, one day I just realized, I didn't want to "survive" anymore.
Because I feel like if I'm always a survivor, than I'm always having to survive something -old or new-and that makes it hard to move on.
We have since gotten this house together and started and adventure together. I'm remaining positive that things will work out and focusing on developing my life a little more.

I doesn't know and it remains yours to sort, but I wonder if you have more than 2 choices here. Just wondering, but in case you are interested, a few alternate choices that have hit my own trail of tears are:
1) Trust ^it^ to the fullness of time.
2) Let go and let God.
3) Problems often resolve themselves when I don't try to force solutions.
But that is me. . .
Continued support while you find what works for you, Sage.
Wise advice Arfie, many blessings.
