Is it only a week since my last entry?
It seems like weeks since I was last here writing. It's not getting any easier. It's so quiet. I don't even bother to turn the TV on now, there's just nothing of interest to watch, and I can't get the sound system to work properly. If she were here she'd sort it no problem. I"m sure our cat must feel the difference too. When I wasn't here my daughter often was so the cat had company for much of the day and could go from one bed to the other. Now there's only my bed and a spare single bed which hasn't been used since my older daughter left home years ago.
However, I'm counting down the work days until both daughters return for a brief holiday in December. We will travel north for a few days and then to my brother's place for Christmas. Really looking forward to it. Just 25 working days - five weeks. The year is drawing to a close so rapidly.
I don't want to live here anymore. The weather is cold and damp and I'm so alone. I don't have friends calling me let alone dropping by. I went for a walk yesterday through a bushy part which was similar to a path through trees in a nearby park. I remembered walking my dog there with the girls, and sometimes alone when they were at school. I miss my dog so much. People say get another dog, but it wouldn't be her. She was the best. TEars well up even now after 6 years. I would love her company right now. It would get me out of the house.
In other news, I have applied online for a job in the city where my daughters live. It doesn't pay as much as I would like but it's a starting point, a foot in the door of the country I want to live in. I'm jealous of anyone who's moved there. I want to be there now, as soon as possible. If only I didn't have to go through the huge undertaking that it involves - much greater than just moving to another city - moving to another country!
Strength. I need strength.
I haven't even written what I was going to write - that this month I'm keeping myself busy with creative endeavours - Nanowrimo, a blog post a day, a photo a day and a sketch a day. Insane but I've managed so far. Anything to keep me busy in this starkly quiet house.
