Introduction

Hello DS community! Thank you for the warm welcomes!

I've joined DS because I'm looking for a place where I can express my thoughts and feeling related to my IF treatment process among people who can understand what it's like to go through IF treatment. In some ways it feels a bit selfish because I have wonderfully supportive friends and family. I've recently moved to Louisiana and although we've only lived here 2.5 years, we have an amazing group of friends here who are very supportive. And two of our closest couple friends have even gone through IF treatment.

But they stopped at IUI's (one friend has twins from hers and one stopped treatment after 3 failed IUIs).

And I'm about to join the IVF club. And in my experience those how hasn't stuck out IF treatment for 1+ years have a hard time relating to the emotional toll prolonged IF treatment can take.

In addition, DH and I found out during our first (terminated) IVF that we're both CF carriers. So we've made the decision to not TTC naturally any more but to only TTC with IVF+PGD to increase our chances of a healthy baby. And that decision has been it's own emotional rollercoaster. So bizzarre after over a year of TTC to have to totally change our relationship with sex -- it is no longer and will never again be for us something we do to TTC. It's been a tough adjustment and one I think few can relate to.

I have a blog on blogspot to keep family and friends posted on what's going on with IF treatment but thought I'd try this one as a way to express how I'm FEELING about IF treatment in an environment with other men and women who are going through similar experiences.

Welcome sweetie! I think you will find that \"wonderfully supportive friends and family\" do not hold a candle to the support and understanding that you will get from these ladies here, who have all been struggling with this for so long. No one else truly gets what it is like, if they haven\'t been through it. I hope DS is as helpful for you as it was for me!

Hi! DS is a great place to get support - especially as you go through the IVF journey! Its made my life much easier! My DH was diagnosed as a CF carrier as well - which is what caused our primary infertility issue. We had to go through lots of genetic testing and ultimately had no option but IVF. Once we learned about our problems (we basically stopped TTC the good old fashion way.) I noticed we gained back \"making love\" - and that was completely great. It was nice to shed the stress of TTC. With my DH being a CF carrier - we don\'t have an option, but regardless - it was nice to ditch the constant 2ww and stress that was building up.

Welcome to this site and community! And lots of baby dust to you :)
