Introduction

hi everyone, i am new here. i am glad i found this forum. i am male, 65, a transhumeral amputee since Sept 2012 due to a large myxofibrosarcoma my right forearm. i am using a standard WALSA funded body-powered prosthesis with a hook, i can do lots of stuff with it but it has many limitations; there must be better TDs out there but it is hard to find any reviews by other AE amputees. i get two sorts of pain; a constant zinging tingling scrunched up feeling in my non-existent limb and the occasional WHACK! bolt out of the blue "huge electric shock"! i am taking a light dose of Gabapentin which helps a bit. early on i was getting a lot of pain/sensation transfer between my face and my "arm"; move arm, face hurts. drink cold beer, arm feels cold; but that has largely disappeared.
i used to be an Automatic Transmission Technician/Rebuilder, now i am a Sailmaker. i am looking forward to sharing information with others on the forum.oh and i have recently had most of my left lung removed due to secondary cancers.kind regards to you alljbsails
