Introduction

This is my first post.  I am addicted to pornography.  My wife suspects that I am addicted to sex as well.  As of this writing, I am abstinent for 5 days.  This started 29 years ago.  I started with videos, then magazines, and then the internet.  After awhile, my wife finally found out about my struggles with this addiction, and I tried to be honest with her about it.  She supported me initially.  I even stopped for quite a few months.  However, then her health took a turn for the worse.  Excruciating pain left it impossible for her to perform sexually at all.  My wife and I have not had sex in months at this point.  She then told me that she was okay with me viewing porn. This was the beginning of getting to the point that I am at now.  Next, she said that I could find a girlfriend if I wanted to.  This concept was foreign to me, and went against my christian upbringing.  But then I found myself trolling Ashley Madison and Craigslist.  We even brought a third party into our bedroom. I didn't have the courage to contact anyone on dating sites, but then I started looking at Gay porn and contacting men.  This is where she she drew the line.  To make matters worse, I lied multiple times directly to her face when she confronted me with the evidence.  She wanted to kick me out.  It was at this point that I realized that I had a problem.  I admitted my addiction and problems to my wife and my pastor.  My wife has now threatened me with divorce if I do not seek professional help now.  I cannot bear to be apart from my 2 children or wife, and am determined to do anything it takes to overcome this.  I informed her that if I am going to be successful, it has to be all the way, one hundred percent.  I cannot be around porn, have heterosexual affairs, and must resist self pleasure as much as possible.  I am seeking out other trusted male friends that can understand and support me in this.
My father is an alcoholic.  He quit cold turkey in 1992 and has been dry ever since.  In his own words, when I asked him, he told me that God just gave him the strength to stay away from it, and that he now just looks at it as a deadly poison to him, like eating a loaded gun.  He does not even feel tempted today.  It is my hope that I can at least start here.  I have gotten rid of all the porn sites on my computer, and my wife checks my phone and computer to verify.  I realize that this might not be a wise idea, but at this point it is more important to reestablish the trust that I've broken by staying abstinent than it is to explore other options.  She tells me that she will be there for me if I get treatment, but that this is my last chance.  There will not be another.  I welcome comments/advice.
